How to Avoid Getting a Bad Deal at a Car Auction

A public car auction can be a fine opportunity for getting a great deal on a used auto. But if you go into an auction without having made the proper preparation, you could instead end up making a mistake you will long regret. I am not trying to scare you from buying your next car at one of these public auctions. There are, indeed, good bargains to be found there. But I want to point out the pitfalls you can face, so you can be better prepared to avoid them.

Let me tell you about a bad experience my family had with a public car auction, some ten years ago. My father had heard that you could get a car at an auction for around $ 500, so he decided to try one and I went with him. It turned out that we had to pay $ 200 for the registration. My father shriggged it off and ended up purchasing a used Cimarron for closer to $ 1,000 than $ 500. There were cars that we could have bought at around $ 500 but they were in much poorer condition. I noticed that these cars tend to be purchased by auto dealers and mechanics. In any case, my father seemed satisfied, though less than inspired, with the car he did get – until he tried to take it off the lot. I will not go into details, but let's just say the car required another $ 500 in parts and repair so we could use it.

That was certainly a bad experience, but it later served me as a learning experience when I attended other public auto auctions. And I was much more successful at those. But I am sure you would not want to go through a bad experience yourself just to earn the wisdom you would need to be successful at an auto auction. So let me explain how you can reduce your risk of getting a bad deal. Now, I can not guarantee that you will not end up with a problem at a car auction, but if you keep my advice in mind, you will certainly stand a better chance of coming out ahead at one.

Every public auction has an inspection period when you can view the vehicles and maybe even start them (although you will not be able to test drive them). Be sure to attend the inspection period and to note down the vehicle identification number of any car you are interested in. Then you are well-advised to track down the car's vehicle history report on Carfax. This will tell you the car's ownership and service history, and also alert you to previous accidents or problems associated with the vehicle.

You should also check the car's trade-in value with a Kelley Blue Book. (You can also use their website at This is essential so you can determine your bid properly. You should also take into account the registration fee for the auction. Furthermore, you must realize that the winning bid you make on a car is not equal to the full price you will pay. You also have to pay a buyer's premium, which is 5% to 10% of the winning bid. You must factor this additional cost into your bid.

Also, a car from an auction is sold "as is" with no warranty. You are strongly advised to get a used car extended warranty for it. Therefore, you should add the cost of the warranty to your total costs.

Finally, be sure to clear out your calendar for the day of the auction. If you end up winning a bid at one, you can end up waiting most of the day as the car papers are processed, before you can drive it out of the lot.

A Review of the Sportcraft TX5.0 RC Treadmill

I love walking, especially out doors, but there are times in winter when it’s just too darn cold. So, recently I bought the Sportcraft TX 5.0 RC Treadmill. Here’s my review and why I’m glad I bought it.

It’s great that I can now enjoy a good walk workout in the comfort of my own home and the features of the Sportcraft TX5 treadmill are really good. I talk about the best ones below.

Out of all the features of the Sportcraft treadmill, the best one is that it can easily go from its horizontal walking position to a vertical position so I can easily store it: I live in a small town house so space is an issue for me. Mind you, the Sportcraft machine does look quite stylish so leaving it set up and on display won’t embarrass a style-conscious person.

The display panel that comes with the Sportcraft TX5 is fantastic as it gives me lots of information. Not only does it show the miles and steps I’ve walked; it also shows the calories, heart rate, time and speed. There’s a quick mode button that lets me change the speed as well; It’s real easy, you just use the “+” or “-” signs to slowly increase or decrease speed in increments of one tenth of a mile.

Although it is a cheap machine, I’ve found I can also use it for running, though I have to admit I don’t run on it all that much. When I do run, I find the remote control to be very useful as it allows me to easily change speed without touching the display panel.

I’m a bit of a safety nut and one reason I’d put off buying a treadmill was because I was afraid I’d fall off – I had visions of my legs and arms being mangled. But, the Sportcraft TX5.0 RC has banished those fears. It comes with a safety cord that attaches to you and a sensor on the panel so if you should fall or slip, and the cord is not connected to the sensor, it stops automatically.

What I liked, and my husband loved, was the low price of the machine at just under $250. My husband found setting up the Sportcraft treadmill a breeze. The manual that came with it was easy to follow.

If you are looking for a treadmill, I would highly recommend the Sportcraft TX5.0 RC Treadmill. My husband doesn’t use it though as he’s an ardent runner; it isn’t really suitable if you take running seriously. But, for walkers like my self I think it works just great.

My review of the Sportcraft treadmill is a little short; I’ve just mentioned the things I liked most about it. The display console of the machine is just about right, the remote control makes operating the treadmill easy and I really like the safety cord. To date, I’ve had hassle free walking on this machine and am getting the workout I need.

States With No Income Taxes & States With Low Property Taxes

Real Estate Investing & Property Tax Rates

In the United States, property tax is assessed by local government at the municipal or county level. The property tax assessment is based on two values - the value of the land, and the value of the building. Since property tax is calculated at a local-level – and since changes occur frequently – it's tricky to determine the exact spots where property tax is the lowest. However, the following information should help you locate areas with high appreciation AND low property taxes.

Which States Have the Lowest Property Tax Rates?

County tax rates are often averaged into a single figure, and this number is used when comparing property taxes between states. Surprisingly, Wyoming has the lowest property tax rates. Unfortunately, property values in Wyoming tend to be pretty depressed, due to low population influx and a lack of jobs. Also, Wyoming does not rank highly when it comes to appreciation rates for residential and commercial real estate. Just because an area has low property taxes does not mean it will be the best area to invest in (or relocate to).

What to Look For When Investing

Look for an area that has a consistent rate of real estate assessment, combined with fairly low property taxes. Often, local property tax rates are low because real estate appreciation in the area is low – so you need to be careful. Cities located next to universities and areas where businesses are relocating are usually excellent spots to buy real estate. Paying attention to population growth can help you spot real estate trends and make wiser investments.

Medium-Sized Cities With the Lowest Property Tax Rates

According to data collected by the Office of the CFO in Washington, DC, the following cities have the lowest property tax rates in 2006, based on an annual income of $ 75,000. Assuming you earn $ 75,000 annually, here are the property tax amounts you would pay in each city …

Birmingham AL – $ 988

Cheyenne WY – $ 1,108

Phoenix AZ – $ 1,248

Wichita KS – $ 1,309

Denver CO – $ 1,362

Charleston WV – $ 1,395

Oklahoma City OK – $ 1,538

Kansas City, MO – $ 1,595

Little Rock AR – $ 1,648

Louisville, KY – $ 1,713

Jacksonville FL – $ 1,744

Honolulu HI – $ 1,781

Billings MT – $ 1,864

Salt Lake City, UT – $ 1,904

Virginia Beach VA – $ 1,918

Jackson MS – $ 1,971

Charlotte, NC – $ 2,021

Boise, ID – $ 2,176

Columbia SC – $ 2,214

Las Vegas NV – $ 2,225

Sioux Falls SD – $ 2,228

New Orleans, LA – $ 2,231

Wilmington DE – $ 2,416

Memphis TN – $ 2,501

Albuquerque NM – $ 2,517

Houston TX – $ 2,861

The Connection Between State Income Taxes & Property Tax Rates

States with no income tax (see list below) usually have high property tax rates in their relevant counties (The state needs to get its revenue from somewhere!). However, the trade-off is that you will have zero taxes on all earned income. This can be a huge advantage. Instead of paying the state 7 to 15 percent (or more) of your income, you can keep your hard-earned money, and invest it back into real estate or other investments. There are currently nine states that do not tax income at the state level.

States With No Income Tax

South Dakota

New Hampshire *

Tennessee *

* New Hampshire and Tennessee do not tax earned income, but they DO tax capital gains (divide and interest income).

How To Find the Best of Both Worlds: Low Property Tax & No State Income Tax

If you're looking for the best of both worlds (low property tax and no state income tax), you may want to consider the following cities:

Sioux Falls, SD

Houston, Texas

Jacksonville, Florida

Memphis, TN

Cheyenne, WY

Las Vegas, Nevada

You can also explore less well-known cities in the nine "no-income-tax" states. Smaller towns and cities generally offer "quality of life" advantages, and higher-than-average price appreciation and growth.

Now you know which states do not tax income, and which areas have the lowest property tax rates. Armed with this knowledge, you can focus on finding the best spot for your next home or real estate investment.

Checking Your Car's Cooling System

Regular inspection of a vehicles cooling system is a task which can be performed by anyone, even those not experts in the field of automotive. This inspection is very important especially during spring season when cars easily experience overheating due to poorly maintained cooling system.

Unfortunately most owners deal with their cooling system problem when it is already severe.

Car owners are advised to make sure there is enough coolant or antifreeze in the system. Inspecting the level of coolant or antifreeze is made easy with many recent model cars having semi-transparent plastic coolant reservoirs.

Auto mobile experts say a vehicle must also have 50:50 antifreeze or coolant and water mixture.

The span of the coolant mixture is as important as ratio of the mixture. This is because the coolant contains corrosion inhibitors which are vital to the engines life.

Rust, scale and acid formation are results of failure to keep fresh coolant in the system. Occasionally, this can also result in over heating and engine damage. Replacing the coolant can help prevent this.

Thirty thousand miles or 24 months is the typical coolant replacement interval for many vehicles. But some newer more refined cars with extended-life coolant can go 100,000 miles or more.

Before, automated repair shops suggest opening the radiator petcock valve and removing the lower radiator hose to drain the fluid into a catch pan for later reclamation. However, in this era with advanced technology, this procedure gives rise to a few problems. First is that the old fluid is being trapped in hoses, in the heater core and in the engine block. In rare cases, majority of the fluid is held only to be mixed with the fresh coolant. This contamination severely diminishes the new coolant or antifreezes efficiency, quality and corrosion inhibitor longevity.

Another thing is that any rust or scale deposits in the radiator, heater core or engine remain after the drain and refill. This results to a blockage. This blockage further diminishes the cooling systems efficiency and increases the chances of excessive heating.

Lastly, the proper disposition of old coolant captures all of the old ones, including that which was flushed from the system with water, and delivering it to a recycling center.

Volkswagen, maker of quality VW fan, offers performance quality cooling system that does not easily breaks down even during very hot weather. Nonetheless, maintenance must also be done to extend its longevity.

How to Save Money and Get Discount Automobile Insurance in Montana

Driving in Montana comes with some responsibility. Not only do you need to obey the rules and regulations of the road, you also need to keep your car covered with adequate automobile insurance. If you are working with a limited budget you may think there’s no way you can find auto insurance at a good rate. You can if you know exactly what you need.

If you drive an older vehicle you may feel comfortable taking out a bare bones automobile insurance policy. In Montana you can purchase a policy that only covers the minimum required by state law. This includes $25,000 coverage for bodily injury to one person during one accident, $50,000 coverage for everyone injured in one accident and also $10,000 in property damage coverage. For anyone driving a new car or someone who drives quite a bit each day, this likely won’t provide enough coverage. For them they need to find other ways to save money and get discount automobile insurance in Montana.

One effective way to cut insurance costs is to buy all your insurance from one vendor. If you have a life insurance policy with one company, health insurance with another and you’re currently looking for a third to cover you for automobile insurance, consider combining them into one policy. The more business you bring to an insurance company, the more they’ll reward you. Instead of asking for a quote for just automobile insurance, ask for a price for all the insurance you need combined. This will typically result in a large savings on all your premiums.

Also, try and pay your automobile insurance premium annually instead of monthly. Although it’s more convenient to pay more frequently, it usually is also more costly. To avoid all service fees and save the most money, pay once a year.

Of course, just because you've posted your items does not mean it is well on it's way to profit heaven – there are important steps that you need to know so your items will be the top pick from the rest. Here are the four latest steps that will help you make more money with eBay and auctions by improving the way in which you market and promote your items.

1. Determine how you will sell your items according to season. If you have a good load of big terry blankets, try to offer them up for auction a few weeks before summer. That way you get into the mindset of people and help them find things that need when they need it the most.

2. Check the quality of your items and test its functions. You might want to repair or replace some parts. Failing that always be honest about its condition so that sellers know what they are getting for their money. And this way, nobody can accuse you of duping people because it is stated plainly in your site that the true condition of your items.

What Is a Penis Plug?

Until a few years ago, I had never heard of a penis plug. You want me to put What,Where? The thought of putting a piece of stainless steel in my penis hole was horrifying. Stuff is supposed to come out of my penis, not go in! But after a few weeks of my wife’s coaxing, I finally gave in. And I’m glad I did.

Let’s go back to the original question, What is a Penis Plug? A penis plug is a piece of stainless steel that is inserted into the urethral opening for sexual play and stimulation. I need to express right now that, although some men have tried experimenting with objects that you find around the house, it is Very unsafe to use household items. You will also find web sites out there selling plugs made of things like glass or beads, but there is too much danger of breakage. Please only use penis plugs made from stainless steel. Penis plugs are a form af sexual exploration for both men and women. Men are the largest group using plugs, but women are getting into the act, too. Some woman purchase these as a sexual aid for their male partners, but plugs can also be used by women. Women usually require a smaller shorter plug.

Urethral insertables come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are known as Urethral Sounds, which are straight or slightly curved pieces of steel used to unblock obstructions of the urethra or to increase the size of the urethra. Another type of urethral insertable is the Prince’s Wand. These require a piercing on the underside of the penis. The prince’s wand is inserted into the urethra, then a threaded pin is inserted into the piercing and screwed into the wand. A ball on the wand can be unscrewed for elimination of fluids.

The most popular form of urethral insertable is the Penis Plug. A penis plug does not require piercing and has the largest variety of models. There are solid plugs that are used mainly for urethral play. Your first thought is that it is going to hurt, but quite the contrary. The feeling is very difficult to explain and I’m sure it’s different for every man, but the best way to explain it would be that it is like having an orgasm from the inside out. When using a plug for the first time, always clean your plug and use a good water based lube. Then relax. If you tighten up because you think it will hurt, you will never get it inserted.

Penis plugs can also come with a through-hole, which has a hole through the middle of the shaft. These through-hole models are designed for extended wear and for elimination of bodily fluids. A Glans ring attachment is available to help hold the plug for extended wear. Penis plugs come in a variety of lengths and diameters, so there is one for every penis size. You can get plugs that have a smooth shaft, or plugs that have a variety of lumps and bumps, each giving you a different sensation when inserted. There are also plugs that have a hoop on the end to give it that pierced look, without the pain of being pierced. In the last few years there has been the addition of vibrators to the tops of the plug for an additional thrill. Some men also find it stimulating to attach there plug to a tens unit for a bit of a shock.

Now you know what a penis plug is, so man up and give it a shot.

How to Make $ 3000 a Month at Seized Car Auctions

In 2002 I had no money but needed a new car badly. I spent months researching car auctions and eventually found a few in my area. I bought a 1997 Jeep Cherokee with 90k miles for $ 4500. There was an almost identical model on eBay with a starting bid of $ 10k. Then I saw the opportunity to make some money from this venture … So a month later I bought a 1999 Impala with 40k miles for $ 4,300 and sold it 2 weeks later on Craigslist for $ 7,900. After that I was hooked. Now I'm flipping over 10 cars a month for about $ 1500 profit each.

Of late I have been receiving numerous phone calls and even emails from everyone wanting to know how earn some extra money by buying and selling cars, so I've put together this guide on how to get started …

Just like any other business, making money buying and selling cars is not necessarily as easy as one would think and it can not be explained through a phone call or even by an email. I could fill 1000 pages with tips, tricks and methods for successfully buying at car auctions and I some point I might … but for now I can offer some key points for getting started and answer some of the bigger questions out there.

I've bought a lot of the ebooks out there and they all have good tips on how to purchase at car auctions but that was all. I was paying $ 19- $ 30 for a guide that did not actually list any of the auctions that I should be buying at. So I started compiling a list of list of every single car auction by state and agency … (on my site).

What made me to choose this business:
The main and important reason I chose this business I was looking for a way to generate sustainable passive income. There are so many fantastic deals at so many auctions but the vast majority of the population will never know.

I also know that car market is HUGE. Almost everyone who owns a car these days buys a different car every 5 years or so. There is absolutely no question on the size of the car market and demand for consumers. There is always demand for a good deal on a good car – even if it's not one that you would drive, just remember, someone will pay for it. One good thing about a tough economy is that a lot of people will be looking someone who can give them a good deal on a car.

The first step is to find a list of auctions in your area. A lot of counties have police auctions every month. Note – some of these auctions require a dealer's license so you'll want to check for that ahead of time.

Once you find an auction, get a bid-list of the vehicles up for auction. For example, at a recent auction in my area there were 3 cars that got my interest:

A 2001 black Honda Accord with a little over 37k miles on it.
A 2003 white Chevy Impala with 90k miles on it.
A 2003 gray Ford F-150 pickup with 67k miles on it.

All three of these cars are popular models with under 100k miles and good colors (although I'm not crazy about the white Impala, it's actually a fairly popular color).

There's very little info other than the picture. The Impala and the F150 were likely government vehicles and the Honda was probably a seizure (in the photo it also looks like there were some 'ground effects' models – probably a drug dealer).

The Impala has almost 100k miles on it but the good news is that government vehicles are generally very well maintained which should help them sell quicker. These are all prime examples of good cars to try and buy at auction.

Now, we need to figure out how much to bid on each of these. At this point it's worth it to discuss some of the different auction formats. Many government auctions are 'sealed bid' which means you submit a bid along with other people without seeing what their bids are. Then, the highest bid wins. These auctions are tougher for obvious reasons.

The other type of auction are what's known as the standard 'dutch auction' in which the bid starts out at a certain price and various bidders offer higher prices until the car is sold. Unfortunately, this auction is a 'sealed bid' auction so I'll have to really do my homework.

The trick with 'sealed bid' auctions is that you have to submit a bid that's low enough to make a profit but high enough …

The Difference Between a Casio Baby-G and a Casio G Shock Watch

Are you looking for the perfect watch that can stand up to your tough lifestyle? There are two that come to mind: the Casio Baby-G and the Casio G shock. These two watches are remarkably similar. They are both tough and durable. They can withstand large falls and impacts that other watches would crumble under. They can both be used in water, and they both have sleek designs that set them apart from other watches.

Their similarities make sense, though. After all, the Baby-G is just a smaller version of the G shock. Despite their similarities, however, there are a few unique differences you should consider before you decide to make a purchase.

Analyzing the Differences

  • Men vs. Women – One of the biggest differences between these two watches is that the G shock is made for men, and the Baby-G is made for women. The sizes of the straps and the watch’s face are different because of this. The Baby-G’s face is generally about the same in length, but it is usually not as deep as the men’s version of the watch.
  • Water Resistance – A G shock watch is generally (although not always) water resistant for up to 200 meters. While some Baby-G’s are as well, many are only resistant for up to 100 meters. Unless your favourite activity is snorkelling or deep sea diving, however, this should not be a problem.
  • Colour – The men’s version of this watch generally comes in very few colours, like black, red, silver, gray, and white. The women’s version, however, is much more colourful. You can find these watches in red, pink, green, white, purple, black, blue, and silver. This allows women to pick and choose different and vibrant colours to match any outfit they put on.

What do These Watches Have in Common?

Aside from their sleek look and unmatchable durability, these two watch styles have several features in common, including:

  • Temperature resistance – Some of the watches can withstand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
  • Electro-luminescent backlight – The backlight on these two types of watches allows you to enjoy them anytime- no matter what time of day it is.
  • Auto-Calendar – These Casio watches are programmed so you will not only know the time, but the date as well. While the number of years the auto-calendar is programmed until will vary, depending on the exact version you purchase, some are programmed all the way until 2099.
  • Long Battery Life – The Casio G shock and Baby-G both come with long-lasting batteries. You can use these watches for up to two years before you need to replace them.
  • Stopwatch – Are you in training or simply trying to lose weight? These watches can help with one hour countdown timers, complete with an auto-repeat option, and a one hour stopwatch.

Whether you are a man or a woman, you are going to enjoy all of the unique features available to you from Casio’s line of G shock watches. If you are a woman, you can enjoy the traditional G shock gives a masculine flair and has all the bells and whistles you need, and if you are a woman, you can enjoy all the same great features, but with a more feminine and colourful accessory.

The Giants That Built the Pyramid of Giza

I was recently asked whether the Giants who helped to build the pyramid of Giza has the same DNA as human beings. What is the arrangement of the double helix? From the questions it became clear that the concept of the forces of animism that take on forms is yet to sit well with many people. But the issue of DNA I will handle in a separate article.

Anyone who has read my articles on The Pyramid of Giza and The Gods of Our Ancestors will have a better appreciation of what I am about to explain. And it is important to know that these thoughts are not mine, and that they derive from my understanding of the work In The Light Of Truth The Grail Message, a book written by a German author, Oscar Ernst Bernhardt who wrote under the pen name, Abd-ru-shin.

The giants we meet in mythology actually existed, and are still in existence today. It is only necessary to add that myths are the realities that we lost in the intellectual closet we locked ourselves in. Thus when we are told of an Atlas that stood on mount Atlas and held the sky, we are actually dealing with a depiction of the reality of a giant called Atlas, who resides on mount Atlas, and gave its name to the mountain. In fact, many mountains have some of these giants inhabiting them.

Another species of giants are responsible for hurricanes. Their strides, race and activities result in destructive movement of air. They uproot trees and carry water to flood planes.

A different species cause earthquakes and volcanoes. They work in coordinated way, such that those that form volcanoes serve as preparers for major earthquakes and earth sinking, as they did in the sinking of Atlantis. I explained this in the article, The Sinking of Atlantis. They are still the same that will be responsible for the sinking of parts of Japan and much of Europe, which will be counter balanced by the rise of Atlantis at the center of the Atlantic Ocean.

They are the ones who helped the Incas to build the temple that was one of the most expensive in the world, since many parts of the temple and artifacts in it are in solid gold. They were also the ones who sank it under water. Today, its memories are in mythology as a mysterious temple at the bottom of a lake which, for current security reasons, I may not name. The giants will one day raise the temple when a universal earthquake hits the earth, Atlantis rises, and many other political upheavals follow. Then, a new teaching will gain power with the force of a hurricane.

The time is near when all men’s heart will be gripped with fear, when the great wonder appears in heaven.
