Timeline Of Mobile Suit Gundam

Eventually we all feel the need to start over. To try again. To take what we know and apply it in a new way. Clearly the guys and girls at Sunrise felt the same. After 4 TV shows, two movies and plenty of manga, they decided to start over. To take the Gundam franchise in a new direction, to draw in new fans as well as to give long time fans something new to enjoy.

And they did it again. And again. And again. And again.

All of these time lines are completely disjoint. Well, apart from… we’ll save that for later. Some of the time lines borrow elements from others, but they are their own self contained worlds with their own characters, history, politics and technology. So let’s have a look at these time lines and consider the TV shows, OVAs and movies within them.

Universal Century

All the original TV shows and movies, from the 1979 original, to the ’80s and early ’90s took place in this timeline. Closest to real life of any of the timelines, Universal Century tells the story of a time when humans have moved into space in huge colonies after polluting the Earth. All of Earth and the colonies, collectively known as the Earth Sphere are ruled by the cruel and selfish Earth Federation. Over time, numerous groups oppose the Federation, and the resulting wars form the basis of the various Gundam TV shows.

A Guide To Vehicle Tracking With Fleet Management Software

Maintaining and organising fleet vehicles, field personnel or other assets is impossible without a reliable centralised system accessible at all levels of the business. Luckily these systems do exist and are referred to as fleet management software or vehicle tracking systems. There are a number of solutions available and these have been developed to handle all aspects of managing and maintaining a fleet as well as personnel and job dispatching. Each comes with a raft of features and capabilities making it difficult to choose a solution.

There are many companies providing vehicle tracking and fleet management software solutions. These fall into two types of system, online or locally installed software.

Online systems are usually a web-based or “in the cloud”. They are accessed via a web interface or web browser where as a locally installed system is installed on a local computer. The pros and cons to these two systems are minimal and come down to I.T infrastructure already in use by the business. If a business has an existing database to manage parts of the business then this data may need to be accessed by fleet management software and this may need a locally installed solution.

What features or capabilities make fleet management software a good investment for a business?

Centralised Data Storage

Having all information in one place is a must for organisation of all aspects of a business. All good solutions enable the input and storage of vehicle information like service, M.O.T and road tax records. Driver records such as driving qualifications, medical requirements and endorsements can also be entered on to the system. Important vehicle and driver documents can be scanned and easily retrieved when required.

Vehicle Service Reminders, Alerts and Management

One really useful aspect of fleet management is the ability to set reminders or alerts for vehicle servicing, M.O.T or road tax due dates. Personnel can update the status of vehicle repairs and drivers can record any vehicle faults when completing daily checks.

Vehicle Tracking with GPS

An important feature when deciding on a fleet management solution is the ability to know where vehicles or personnel are located or where they have been. Vehicle tracking is usually achieved with the installation of a small device in the vehicle or in the case of personnel or assets a small device can be carried in a pocket or attached. Once setup it is possible to see vehicles, people and assets in real-time on maps. Knowing where all the business assets are allows the fleet manager or transport dispatcher to assign the right asset to the correct location.

Job Assignment and Dispatch

This is a very useful feature but not all fleet management systems feature it. The ability to assign jobs via the system is a really useful function. Mobile personnel, drivers or field engineers can update the job status, upload images and signatures enabling back office staff to immediately see and inform a customer of progress. These systems can be installed on existing devices such as smart iPhones, Android and Blackberry handsets.

History Trails and Reports

When all of a business’s data is stored in a centrally managed system it is easy to compile reports that can improve efficiency and even save money.

Detailed reports on individual assets such as vehicles can show total running costs for that vehicle. Vehicle tracking information can show how much fuel has been used and help to suggest cheaper alternative routes. This combined data from personnel can help a business to see where efficiencies can be achieved.

To summarise, fleet management software and vehicle tracking solutions should enhance a business and if used correctly should improve the operating and efficiency of a business’s mobile resources. The savings that can be achieved may be out-weighed by the costs of the systems but that should also be balanced against the increased productivity and the ability to offer a better service to clients.

The Different Types of Car Modifications

The day you get your first car is a step into a new chapter of your life. Your first car will also give you a sense of freedom to be yourself including creating an image for yourself on the street. Car modifications can be expensive but, at the same time, it boosts your confidence and gives you real street cred. Here are the different types of car modifications that you could try.

  • Cold Air In-take Installation – Installing one of these not only enhances the performance but it also assists the engine with cooling. Long journeys or intensive driving can cause the engine to overheat so what better item to install than an air in-take?
  • Short Shifter Installation – This modification is purely for having a good time on the roads. The short shifter minimises the distance before having to change gears. Often, a short shifter also assists the driver with increasing speed which could be useful when overtaking those slow drivers.
  • Car Wrapping – Car wrapping is for those car owners who don’t want to get the chassis painted. There are also more patterns, colours and styles that can be used and is much cheaper than getting the car repainted. The downside to having your car wrapped is easy damage to the material. Once the material has been damaged, the car will have to be rewrapped.
  • Spoiler Installation – There are tasteful and useful ways of installing a spoiler kit and then there are pointless and ugly spoiler kits that many people install. This wing was designed to assist the car with aerodynamics and the correct shapes make the chassis look good. Other spoiler kits look disproportionate to the rest of the car.
  • Chrome Trimming – Adding chrome trimmings to the exterior of your car gives it a little bling without over doing it. The shininess of the chrome also makes the doors and wheel well look good. The end result of adding chrome features enhances the look of the car.
  • New Tyres – Make sure that you select the correct size tyres for your car. Some tyres have not been made to fit within the wheel well. Low profiles look good with any car whether it is new or old.
  • New Wheels – Wheels are always the best item to get when customising and detailing your car. There are so many different sizes, styles, colours and materials at a wheel supplier that can really make the car pop on the road.

Car modifications are a way that you can express yourself without overspending on a brand new performance car. It is also easier to get simple appearance modifications that make an impression on other drivers.

Auto Glass Installation – Do’s and Do Nots

The glass in your auto is made of material that is very damage resistant, which is one of the reasons it is used as a windshield and door windows. If you have to have your auto glass replaced or repaired, there are some things that you should do and should not do.

Things you should do

• Avoid slamming the doors-most cars and other vehicles have an airtight system. If you have just had any of the glass placed be sure that when the windows are rolled up that you avoid slamming the doors. If you do slam the doors, it could create excessive air pressure against the newly installed glass. This can impair the seal of the glass, which could shift the glass from its actual position. It could also cause a leakage from the glass. If either of these two happens, you will have to take your car back to the shop to have the problem fixed. They will generally have to replace the glass

• Change the wipers as needed-these mechanical devices operate against the auto windshield when it rains or snows. Overtime, they become worn out and could cause vexing scratches or damage your windshield. When this happens the windshield glass starts to wear out and may have to be replaced. Check your windshield wipers often and replace them every few months or as soon as they start to look worn.

Things you should not do

• Wash your car-after having new auto glass installed, you need to wait forty-eight hours before you wash your car. This includes washing it by hand and using a car wash. If you do not wait, it can damage the window seal that was glued to the car during the new windshield replacement.

• Driving the car too soon-after having he auto glass replaced you should wait at least sixty minutes or longer before you drive the car. When doing windshield installation, the auto glass service technician uses materials like adhesives and special glass. They need time to settle down with the temperature and humidity of the environment.

• Tape on the auto glass-when the windshield or any auto glass is installed, they usually use a special tape to secure the moldings, especially on the windshield. You should not remove this tape until twenty-four hours later. If it is removed too soon the support the glass needs is lost. The tape usually does not hinder your ability to see out of the windshield so it is safe to drive with the tape on.

If you have any questions ask the technician and they will be glad to answer your questions. Most will tell you what you should and should not do after auto glass installation

If you have not optimised your website for mobile SEO, there is a high chance that you are not reaching out to your target audience or satisfying the needs of your customers. Keep reading to know how you can deliver the ideal mobile experience to your audience.

What is the Importance of Mobile SEO?

Mobile SEO is critical because it enables you to reach your target audience at the right time and in the right place. Every day, people are discovering more and more advantages of smartphones, which is leading to mobile traffic surpassing desktop traffic. In order to connect with millions of mobile phone users, you need an effective mobile SEO strategy. As per reports, smartphone users have a much higher intent of buying than desktop users. So, you need to be there when potential buyers are looking for your products or services.

Google’s Mobile-first Index Raised the Importance of Mobile SEO

Making websites mobile-friendly was a concern amongst most online businesses thanks to the rising number of smartphone users all over the world. But, Google’s mobile-first index made it mandatory for online businesses to have a mobile version of their website. As per the mobile-first index, the search giant announced that it would be giving more preference to website’s that has a mobile version when it comes to ranking. The mobile websites will be crawled by Googlebot to determine their content, performance and user experience. This announcement means that online businesses must take action if they do not want to lose their customers to their competitors.

Websites with Responsive Design Fares Well on Search Engines

When developing your mobile website, you are going to have 3 options – responsive design, a separate site on a subdomain or dynamic serving. Amongst the three options, Google prefers responsive design because that way, you will only have one website adapting to the devices that it is being used on. You would not have to build different websites for different mobile devices and screen sizes.

Having a responsive website is less of a hassle, as well. Such websites have only one code base, making maintenance extremely easy. Also, responsive design is going to make your website readily eligible for Google’s mobile-first index.

Important Considerations for Mobile SEO

  • Page speed: You cannot afford to have a mobile website that loads extremely slow. Mobile users are even more impatient than desktop users, and they might not wait for 5 to 7 seconds for your website to load. You need to periodically analyse the performance of your mobile website and make the necessary changes. Some suggestions for improving page speed would be optimising the images, upgrading to HTTPS, use a CDN and so on. Professionals offering SEO optimization services can give you more inputs.
  • User experience: Besides being found easily, your mobile website should offer an outstanding user experience. You need to be vigilant about the common tasks performed by your customers and their search intent. Make sure to do away with any kind of obstacle that might hinder your users from reaching their goals fast.
  • Optimise for local: Smartphones become particularly useful when users are out and about. About 76% of mobile users search for things are nearby to where they are. This means that to truly achieve SEO success, you need to optimise your mobile website for local search.

The digital and mobile landscape undergoes rapid changes. So, even once you have a foolproof mobile SEO strategy, significantly invest in upgrading it.

Are Your Smartphones and Other Mobile Devices Secure?

Smartphones and other mobile computing devices are under attack and face major risks. They have become prime targets for cybercriminals. Many people are unaware.

Mobile phones, tablets and notepads have significant vulnerabilities. You need to be aware and take steps to keep them from becoming a victim of a cybercriminal and losing critical information.

Today’s smartphones are very powerful and can access as much confidential information as networked computers. Modern mobile platforms are incredibly capable and are routinely used by people who are on the go and in environments that are insecure. The sensitivity of the information being sent and received virtually includes any set of confidential information to which the user has access.

Mobile digital equipment faces the same attack vectors as desktop computers (e.g. malware, social engineering, signal interception and overlay attacks).

Additional challenges that are very unique exist. Your smartphone wireless signal, for example, can connect with a fake cell tower being operated by a cybercriminal and gain access to all of your information.

The mobile information security problem is becoming worse. More than two million varieties of malware are in existence and directed against transportable computing devices. A single data breach could potentially bankrupt a company.

One information security news source, ChannelPro, reports that more than 70 million smartphones are physically lost each year with only 7 percent being recovered. One laptop is stolen every fifty-three seconds. Mobile devices are easy to steal.

The security perimeter, in recent years, has been pushed back from the secure space behind a firewall to any location on the planet where a user can make a wireless connection. The user of a smartphone or a tablet functions outside of the protection of a computer network and the signal is “in the wild”. Unless robust encryption is being used, any information that is being broadcast through the air can be intercepted and compromised.

The fact that users routinely “sync” their mobile devices with desktop computers is another significant vulnerability. Both devices can easily be infected with malware if one or the other digital hardware has been compromised.

Computing on the go faces all of the typical threats and vulnerabilities as well as a number of new ones. Smartphones or notepads can be individually targeted. Cybercriminals, for example, can gain access to your confidential information by simply observing you work. There are other vulnerabilities. “Texting”, for example, has been known to deliver malware to unsuspecting users that can allow cybercriminals to completely compromise an entire hardware platform.

Smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices must be secured at all times, particularly when they are being used in public (e.g. in an airport). Users should be alert to the threat of having their equipment physically stolen and should take extraordinary steps to protect their data being stored or transmitted.

Smartphones and mobile digital equipment, in reality, are at a much greater risk of being lost, damaged or compromised than a networked computer. Smartphones can easily be stolen but they can also function as a conduit for the transfer of malware when they are synced or used to exchange information with network computers. Now that mobile digital devices are so powerful it’s fair to suggest the damage that can be done by the loss of a mobile device can be just as bad as by any other means.

You should make every effort to learn how to secure your mobile digital equipment.

Removing a Locked Club or Steering Wheel Lock

What do you do when you have lost your keys to your Locked Club or Steering Wheel Lock also called a steering wheel car theft prevention device?

In cities with high auto theft and theft of autos drivers have to use car theft prevention devices like the The Club to lock the steering wheel to prevent their cars from being stolen. In 2009, British Columbia had the highest car theft frequency in Canada. Approximately 11 vehicles per 1,000 or 2-4 times the auto theft of other provinces and regions. British Columbia is the auto theft capital of the Western World.

A quick search of the Internet will result in several suggestions on how to remove a steering wheel club. Several website recommend forcing the lock with a screwdriver or to freeze the lock with Freon. Both of these methods do not work and usually result in damaging the wheel, front windshield or causing the airbag to deploy at the cost of hundreds of dollars (one person had the front and side air bags deploy at the cost of over $3000). Another persons’ fingers were frost bitten not to mention how expensive and environmentally unfriendly using Freon to freeze the lock. Has anyone ever seen the results of using Freon work on any lock? Urban myth or something for MythBusters.

Bottom line: Screwdrivers and Freon does not work. Clubs have been designed to prevent the average or above average car thieves from removing them.

An Automotive Locksmith has been trained to safely, and with no damage to the car, remove a locked Club or Steering wheel lock. Most of the time they can pick the lock with their lock picks quickly and efficiently.

Despite the risk of you losing your key to your steering wheel lock they are still a great deterrent to prevent the theft of your car. Even if your car has an alarm system, immobilizer or the car is equipped with transponder or chip key security system a club or steering wheel lock is highly recommended to install on your car. And if you do lose your Club key, a car Locksmith will remove the steering wheel lock with no damage to your car or steering wheel.

If you have auto insurance, Canadian Automobile Association, American Automobile Association or other emergency auto/RV/motorcycle/bike roadside service, and if your keys are locked inside the car or trunk, or your keys are lost or broken, they will cover emergency locksmith service up to $100. A professional automotive locksmith will provide you with a receipt so you can submit it to your auto insurance provider for reimbursement.

The Cost of Auto Insurance in Nova Scotia

Car Insurance Rates Across Canada

Although the rates in Nova Scotia are much less than the majority of the country, you still deserve to find the lowest rate plan available. The average car insurance rate in this province is around $91 per month, or $1,093 per year. This is compared to the average rates in Alberta, which are currently sitting at about $114 per month, or $1,371 per year. Worse still, paying the average auto insurance rates in Ontario will set you back about $160 per month, or $1,916 per year.

As with most of Canada, young drivers in Nova Scotia will often pay more than older adults. The province’s young adults – between 25 to 30 years of age – will pay an average of $103 per month, or $1,241 per year in auto insurance. Those between 46 and 50 years of age pay an average of $81 per month, or $976 per year, while older adults – between 61 and 65 years of age – pay very little, at an average of $73 per month, or $878 per year. Nova Scotia’s youngest drivers (under the age of 25) pay the most, with an average car insurance rate of $210 per month or $2,522 per year.

Age isn’t the only factor that affects your auto insurance rates – your gender does as well. On average, men pay about $94 per month in auto insurance, while women often pay approximately $88 a month.

Cheapest Car Insurance Rates in Canada

Nova Scotia ranks 5th for having the lowest premiums on auto insurance in Canada. Most people in the province don’t have to pay much more than the cheapest premiums available in the country. There is only a $59 difference between the cheapest car insurance available in Canada and the average cost for auto insurance in Nova Scotia. All five of the cheapest auto insurance options in the country come from less populated provinces. The difference among the most populated and least populated of the top five lowest options (excluding Quebec) is only 955,445 people. Due to their similar population sizes, the auto insurance premiums among these provinces is also quite close.

Nova Scotia Car Insurance Coverage Options

It is interesting to take a closer look at the coverage chosen most often by drivers in Nova Scotia:

· People who choose the most minimal auto insurance allowed by law pay approximately $69 per month in premiums. This kind of coverage doesn’t cover any damages to your own vehicle, but it does cover the costs accumulated by a third party if you’re involved in an accident. This kind of coverage would work for you if you have an older car that you wouldn’t consider repairing if it were to become damaged.

· If you’re leasing a vehicle, you need more than just the bare minimum coverage, and you should look into medium-level coverage that offers liability, collision, and comprehensive damage protection. This kind of coverage will set you back approximately $93 per month.

· Coverage above this level often includes more comprehensive policies that have accident benefit coverage at much higher than the average car insurance policies in Nova Scotia. Costs of these policies rise to $104 per month, as a result. Since there is a relatively small difference between medium and extensive coverage, it is worth your while to consider extensive auto insurance coverage. Saving just a few dollars isn’t worth the additional risk to you or your family.

Your driving record has a big impact on your insurance premiums. If you don’t have any violations within the past six years, you could easily receive reduced rates as cheap as $84 per month or $1,002 per year on car insurance. Having a maximum of even two violations in the last three years makes your car insurance premiums rise exponentially, to approximately $189 per month, or $2,273 a year for auto insurance.

What You Need for Coverage in Nova Scotia

In Nova Scotia, it is mandatory for drivers to have $500,000 in third party liability coverage, at least $50,000 in medical payment coverage, and $2,500 in funeral expense coverage. You will also need $250 a week for disability insurance. As a law in Nova Scotia, you cannot sue for more than $8,123 in pain and suffering caused by major injuries. This rule actually saves insurance companies money, allowing the province to have an average insurance premium as low as $783.

How Much Does It Cost To Wrap My Car?

Cars come in all different shapes, sizes, models, colours and brands. I often get asked many times, “How much would it cost to wrap my car?”, and all those times, I have to go in depth with these potential customers about their different needs and wants. Many first timers often think that car wrapping has one uniform pricing, which changes on size, but there is so much more to it than they realise. Let me break it down for you here.

Car Model:

As mentioned above, all cars are different. Take, for instance, a Volkswagen Golf. Others may see just a standard hatchback, but as professional car wrappers, we have to look beyond the body type. Firstly, we have to break down the trim level. Does the car have a body kit? Are there any distinct changes in the styling? Is there a sunroof? What sort of bumpers does it have? Are the headlights different? Are there any prior scratches, dents or marks on the car? These are just some of the questions we must be able to answer, which is why we never are able to give out proper quotes, unless we see the vehicle in person. Sometimes, we can give quotes on the spot as some vehicles don’t differ, but this is a rare case.

Vinyl Type:

This, thankfully for me, is much easier to breakdown for us. A good car wrapping company, such as ourselves, should have a database complete with all our available material. Material can alter the price quite a bit. Depending on the finish, such as matte black, gloss blue, metallic red, satin yellow, chrome orange etc… all of which can affect the pricing. The material brand also can affect the pricing. Depending on where you go, some workshops may use cheap, inferior brands of vinyl. Fortunately, companies that have a high degree of care only use the best, with vinyl coming exclusively from 3M and/or Avery Dennison, both of whom are some of the biggest vinyl and adhesive product suppliers in the world. It’s important to ensure that wherever you get your car wrapped, the workshop uses brands such as 3M, Avery Dennison, Oracal and/or Arlon. These are the top shelf brands that ensure your wrap not only looks good, but can look good over a long period of time

Body Panel:

This may be an odd consideration, but sometimes, car wrapping business may get customers who just want specific parts of their vehicles to be wrapped. Parts such as the roof, door handles and bonnet are the most popular option that is requested. There are also requests for stickers and/or decals to be put on, mainly stripes that run down the body panel, or side skirts. This, combined with the different custom stickers we can design, often go into the final decision making part of the costs of car vinyl.

Driving Lessons – Everything You Need to Know

The number of cars on the road is increasing every day. There is nothing better that getting behind the wheel of a car and driving down an open road. Cars are very useful and they help us get from one place to another. The ability to drive is an important skill to posses and we should all make sure that we learn how to drive properly and obtain a drivers license.

Before you can take a vehicle on the road you need to make sure that you are able to control that vehicle properly. This is important for your own and for other people's safety. To obtain a valid driver's license that first step is to pass a written exam. Some states or countries have oral exams. These exams are designed to test an individual's knowledge about traffic rules and regulations. Once you have cleared this theoretical exam you must pass a practical exam as well. It is not enough to know the theory of driving you need to demonstrate that you can put your theoretic knowledge into practical application. To actually learn how to drive a car you need to drive an actual car. This should not be done in a haphazard way as you will put yourself and others in danger.

The best way to learn how to drive and get some practical experience is to get driving lessons. In this article we will cover some information that you need to know about driving lessons.

You can get driving lessons from anyone who has a license. This means that you could ask a friend or family member to teach you how to drive. This is not always a viable option for everyone. A friend or relative may not be able to teach you everything you need to learn to pass the driving test.

A much better option is to approach a professional driving instructor for driving lessons or to go to a driving school. These schools have a lot of experience and you can rest assured that you will learn the necessary skills to get your license. Keep in mind that you only get what you pay for. Do not go for driving lessons that are very cheap as there is almost always a catch. You should look into getting lessons that are reasonably priced and then ask for a bargain. A good driving instructor will be able to come up with references that will vouch for him. Do not be afraid to call up people for reference checks. You should also talk to the instructor and make sure that you are comfortable with him or her.

A great way to find good driving lessons is to go online. There are websites that list various driving schools and driving instructors and you will be able to find driving lessons that suit you. The great thing about the internet is that you can go through all the information without having to contact anyone any this will allow you to consider all your options before you make a call.

How to Find the Cheapest Scrap Platinum

The oldest record of platinum use is as an inlay in ancient Egypt. However, the Egyptians though it was a variation of electrum, (a natural blend of gold and silver.) Native Americans used it for centuries in small decorative objects. Platinum was unknown to Europeans until Spanish discovered it in Columbia. The Spanish called it platina, meaning little silver. It was not identified as a new metal until the 1700’s. The metal was introduced into Europe from South America in the middle of the eighteenth century. It is always found in association with other metals, chiefly Rhodium, Osmium, Iridium, Palladium.

Platinum is one of the rarest and purest precious metals in the world. The perfect jewelry material for these fortuitous times, Platinum is regarded by many as a “new” metal. Platinum has been held in high regard as a symbol of wealth and nobility, the true worth of Platinum was underappreciated until the eighteenth century, when the Europeans began to recognize Platinum’s beauty. As a matter of fact, France’s Louis XVI proclaimed it the only metal fit for royalty. Legendary jewelers such as Cartier, Faberge and Tiffany created their timeless designs in platinum. The world’s famous diamonds, including the Hope and Koh-l-Noor, are secured permanently in platinum.

Platinum reached its peak of popularity in the early 1900s, when it was the preferred metal for all fine jewelry in America. It dominated the world of jewelry design during the Edwardian era, the Art Deco period and well into the 1930s. At the onset of World War II, however, the U.S. government declared platinum a ‘strategic’ metal and its use in non-military applications, including jewelry, was banned.

Very few countries have platinum supplies, with South Africa (80%) and Russia (11%) accounting for approximately 90% of the world’s supply. The yearly production from these mines is only 150 tons, which is 1/25 of the yearly production of gold. Moreover, the amount of platinum that can be produced from raw ore is relatively small. To make a single small ring of approximately 3 grams requires approximately 1 ton of raw ore.

Today, platinum is much more valuable than gold. Although it is used in many industrial applications, including the automotive industry, platinum jewelry consistently commands higher prices than even pure gold because of its rarity.

Two of the best ways to find the cheapest scrap platinum is through catalytic converters and scrap platinum jewelry. Due to the prices of platinum being so high as of late, a lot of people are becoming victims of thieves who steal their catalytic converters. It used to be you had to worry about your rims, stereos and gps systems, well not anymore.

A catalytic converter is used to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine. They were first introduced on cars in the US market for the 1975 model year to comply with tightening EPA regulations on auto exhaust. Each catalytic converter contains between three and seven grams of platinum. Not a bad catch if you can find one legally. Catalytic converters are also used on generator sets, forklifts, mining equipment, trucks, buses, trains, and other engine-equipped machines.

From the scrap yards, the converters make their way into the metal-recycling industry, where the platinum and other precious elements, including palladium and rhodium, are removed and used to build high-tech machinery, including more catalytic converters.

Although it is being brought to the forefront thanks to thieves stealing the catalytic converters, platinum still seams to be the big unknown in scrap metal. Some great places to find old catalytic converters for scarp are the local junk yards, online classifieds, such as Craiglist, US Freeads and Kiji. Another great place, as usual is Ebay. Some people even find them at flee markets and garage sales. The trick is once you get them, finding refiners that will pay decent scrap metal prices for the platinum. It will be less than what the price of platinum is due to the fact that they have to extract it, that price is passed on to you.

Now there is a second way to find the cheapest scrap platinum and that is through jewelry. Again the best places to find great deals on platinum jewelry is through the flee market and garage sales, followed by Craigslist, Us Freeads, Kiji and Ebay. Or if you are really resourceful you can invest in a metal detector and hope for the best.

What is so great about scrap platinum jewelry? Well, the number of knowledgeable buyers and sellers are low. Most people don’t understand that platinum jewelry is 90% platinum and that the other 10% is made up of a platinum group metal. If you call around to your local pawnshops, scrap metal dealers, junk yards, coins shops, and jewelers, you’ll find that most of them …

Car Insurance – How To Get The Best Deal

Policy holders generally seem unaware, or uncaring, that they are probably paying more than they need to for their car insurance. While most vehicle owners would tend to agree on the need to look for the cheapest possible car insurance – they would also see the need to ensure, where at all possible, that they receive the cover they are paying for and the service is at the correct level.

You should never pay for things you do not need. And it's just the same with Car Insurance. It's a real waste of hard earned money to pay for items of cover that are just not needed.

For instance, lets say your car is old and when you get a quote for car insurance you find that the premium you have to pay is more than ten percent of your cars value. This is a good indicator that there is no reason to have comprehensive coverage in your car insurance.
But why should that be?

The answer is simple. Comprehensive coverage reimburses you in case of any damage to your car that is not a result of a collision with another car including, theft, flooding and fire. If your car is not of high value there is no reason to have this coverage.
But what about car theft?

The best way to prevent theft is the old way – installing anti theft devices. These are significantly cheaper than comprehensive car insurance and will probably last longer than your car!
As an added bonus, your insurance company will charge you a lesser premium because their statistics tell them these devices will help prevent theft.

But always remember that the insurance industry is constantly changing, like most others, so you must make sure you are updated on anything new that may affect your cover or your premium.
With that in mind you should make a point of going online every few months and complete a car insurance quote.

You may be surprised at what you find. Compare prices and you'll probably find it's easy to get cheaper car insurance.

You must always make sure that the cover you are being quoted on is right for you. Always enter accurate information, but do not be afraid to, for example, change from male main driver to female main driver, if that's appropriate in your circumstances. If this can be done it could save a significant amount.

Raising deductibles from, say, $ 250 to $ 500 often results in a saving of ten percent.

This article outlines just a few of the strategies you could adopt which would make a difference to the cost of your car insurance.
