Basics Of Auto Insurance Coverage

If you are going to take an auto insurance policy, you need to know about the different types of coverage you can get, so that you are well informed before you take out the policy. Heres a list of coverage you can get with your auto insurance policy:

Property Damage Liability Coverage – This coverage steps in when you accidently damage someone elses property (for example, their home fence, car or par of their home like a wall), in a collision. If you are caught in a lawsuit for property damage, this coverage will pay for the lawsuit expenses as well. The amount of coverage depends on the limits you have chosen in this coverage.

Bodily Injury Liability – This coverage pay for injuries caused to someone else, (for example, lost wages or medical expenses) in the event of an accident. Lawsuit expenses are also covered under bodily injury liability.

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) – These are also known as Medical Payment Insurance or Med pay. It provides for medical expenses, lost wages and other similar expenses caused by an accident in which there is serious bodily injury. This is a no-fault coverage, meaning it does not require establishing which fault the accident is, before paying out.

Comprehensive Coverage – This coverage provides for damages occurring to car as a result of events such as theft, flood, fire and so on. In other words this coverage caters to those events that damage you car, other than a collision.

Collision Coverage – This coverage provides for damages occurring to your car as a result of a collision. Collisions can happen when you car strikes another vehicle hits and object or is stuck by another vehicle.

Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage – This coverage pays for expenses (for example, medical bills, lost wages) that occurs as a result of injuries or death when a driver with insufficient insurance coverage causes an accident with your car. The amount you receive is the difference between your coverage and the bodily injury coverage offered by the other drivers policy.

Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage – This coverage pay for expenses (for example, medical bills, lost wages) that occurs when a driver with no insurance coverage causes an accident with your car. The amount you receive is the limits of the coverage.

Underinsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage – This coverage pays for damages (Repair and Replacement) that occurs to your car when a driver with insufficient insurance coverage causes an accident with your car. The amount you receive is the difference between your coverage and the property damage coverage offered by the other drivers policy.

Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Coverage – This coverage pay for expenses (Repair and Replacement) that occurs when a driver with no insurance coverage causes an accident with your car. The amount you receive is based on the limits set by the policy.

These are the basic types of coverage you need to know before to sign up for an auto insurance policy. Added coverage includes heading and labor costs, rental reimbursements and gap converge. However, before you take up the policy consult on details of the coverage you opt for because laws vary from state to state and you should be aware of all terms and condition before committing to the insurance policy.

The Mysterious World of Auto Leasing

Auto leasing and the marketing of there have been something under the radar the past few years due to very low interest rates offered up by lending institutions. For most, the allure of leasing a car has been the advantage of lower monthly payments. With the low financing rates, this advantage has been shifted to traditional financing.

The world of car leasing has a long history of being somewhat less than straightforward. Even now one can find some pretty good deals out there, but the financial process around leasing a car can still be more than a bit confusing. And it's this confusion that can leave you with a less than warm and fuzzy feeling after your leasing transaction is all said and done.

So, in an effort to avoid or mitigate the confusion when it comes to auto leasing, let's take a look at some basics.

In auto leasing you are only paying for (in the form of monthly payments) the portion of the car that you use over the life of the lease (the part you use is how much the car depreciates). As part of your monthly payments, you'll also be paying sales tax and finance charges.

Yes, finance or interest charges. In car leasing vernacular this is known as the 'money factor'.

What determines how much of the car you will use is the car's residual value. The residual value is a pre-determined number as to what the market value of the car will be at the end of the lease.

For example – if a $ 20,000 car has a residual value of $ 11,000 at the end of your 36 month lease – this means that you will have used $ 9,000 of this car; so your monthly payments will be based on $ 9,000 over 36 months. As you can see, the better a car holds its residual value or the higher that value is … the more favorable your monthly payments will be.

More often than not the money that you will need to come up with up front is your first monthly payment and a security deposit. Of course, you are more than welcome to put more money down (cap cost reduction) just like when purchasing a car; if you want to lower your monthly payments even more.

The cap cost or capitalization cost is another name for the price of the car you're looking at. And, just like purchasing, you can and should negotiate the price or in this case the cap cost of the car. In fact, I would not even distinguish the fact that you're considering leasing until you've negotiated and agreed on an actual selling price of the car you're looking at.

As you see, doing your homework is every bit just as important as and probably more than when you are actually purchasing the car. Negotiating and leasing a car based solely on achieving a monthly payment is probably the number one reason consumers get stuck paying too much.

Cap cost reduction is almost always negotiable. If a dealer tells you that it is not or unwilling to do so … they are plenty of other vehicles and dealers that offer and will.

We touched on the 'money factor' which is the leasing equivalent of the interest rate. Are you getting the best possible 'money factor'? Just like the purchasing side, the dealer can add points to a money factor just like they can to an interest rate in order to maximize their profit. This is why it is extremely important for you to know your credit score and at what interest rate you qualify for before you even set foot in a dealership or you could really get … well … made love to.

Many factory warranties on vehicles run for 36 months. This is a good reason not to be looking at leasing a car for longer than the factory warranty. In addition, once you get out past 36 months on a car lease, you quickly start losing the advantage of the residual value since most depreciation occurs early on.

Lastly … well, maybe not lastly when it comes to leasing but lastly within the scope of this article; If you have good credit, or sometimes have been a good or repeat customer, ask the dealer to waive the security deposit and / or the acquisition fee. First of all, they will not if you do not ask; and secondly this is certainly a fair request as part of the negotiating process. Worst case they say no. Best case … you save some more of your hard earned money.

Mobile Accessories That Are A Must For Your Smartphone

It would be nearly impossible to imagine a single day passing by without the mobile phone. Mobile phones not only help us remain connected with our loved ones but also provides entertainment in the form of music and games. Considering that we are lost without the mobile phone, we need to be able to take care of them with utmost sincerity. Listed below are a few mobile accessories that we can use to protect our mobile phones.

Mobile cases

In order to protect your expensive mobiles from the daily wear and tear, you need to use pouches or cases that prevent scratches on your phone. These pouches also prevent the phones from severe damage if you happen to drop them. The mobile cases these days come in a lot of colors and designs. You get crystal studded cases, cartoon characters, glow in the dark and many more different variants. Youngsters consider these a huge fashion statement. Even an old and outdated mobile phone can be made to look trendy by using these fashionable pouches. Thus these cases help in protecting the mobile phone as well as give it a sophisticated touch.

Screen guard

A touch screen phone with a lot of scratches wouldn’t be easy on the eyes. The responsiveness of such phones would be drastically reduced with all the scratches. These scratches may be the outcome of regular handling of the phones. Using a screen guard reduces scratches, makes the phone look pleasing to the eye as well as improves the durability of the screen. Since these screen guards can be replaced, you don’t need to be concerned about the phone looking shabby after a few months. A badly looking screen can reduce the resale value of the phone if you decide to sell it. Using a screen guard keeps your screen nice and shiny, giving your phone an unused look and this improves its resale value.

Charger Used during travelling

A very frequent situation one faces is running out of the phone battery, especially when travelling. In the midst of all the chores, working people sometimes forget to charge their phones. In situations like these a travel charger comes as a blessing. A lighter outlet or accessory outlet of the vehicle can be used to plug in the travel charger which in turn charges your phone. Professionals who are always on the run find this accessory a savior in disguise. Depending on the speed of charging, travel chargers are of three types namely fast chargers, rapid chargers, and trickle chargers.

Headsets

Since talking on the phone while driving is considered an offence in many states, the Bluetooth headset comes as a welcome advancement. Many professionals who are often travelling and cannot miss work calls are able to take their calls without being fined by using the Bluetooth headset.

Reserve battery

While travelling long distance, a reserve battery comes handy as you might not be able to charge the phone in between. Also since the phone batteries are small and pocket friendly, carrying one along isn’t a difficult task. The run out battery can be removed from the phone and replaced with a charged battery.

Auto Repair Sales – How to Sell $1,000,000 in Service

An auto repair sale is a popular topic with most shop owners. One million dollars seems like a magic number for a lot of shop owners. They’re either struggling to hit it, or they’ve made it and now they want two million or three million. Whatever the goal, fantastic auto repair sales performance is really quite simple (not always easy, but simple). To achieve outstanding auto repair sales performance you have to consistently do four things.

1. Listen carefully to the customer and quickly build rapport and relationship.

2. Ask for the largest possible sale while offering the greatest perceived value.

3. Get the work done. Quickly and correctly.

4. Lock the customer into a long-term relationship with your shop; repeating steps one, two and three at least three times per year.

In step one the key is quickly. To sell one million dollars (or more) in a year, everything is going to have to happen FAST! The rapport building process doesn’t have to take a long time. You can build a strong connection with a new client very quickly just by getting them talking about themselves.

Question: So, how long have you lived here?-What kind of work do you do?-How long have you owned the car?-Where’s your favorite place to go on vacation?-Tell me about your kids/pets… All these questions get the customer talking about themselves and give you plenty of opportunity to identify and comment on common points of interest or experience. None of this takes more than a few minutes, but during this process the vital process of trust building is occurring.

In step two, the key is asking for the LARGEST possible sale. Fear stops most salespeople from asking for the large sale. Instead they convince themselves that the customer will only accept a much lower figure; a figure that they (the salesperson) are comfortable with. This is why I spend so much time in the Advanced Service Writer Sales Training Class working on the closing question. The closing question is the key to overcoming the fear. With it memorized and practiced the fear subsides and the service writer is able to ask for much bigger sales than ever before. I’ve seen this tool add more than $300 per RO to a shops RO average. It is that POWERFUL!

The first two steps are pure auto repair sales step. Step three is a management step. The first two steps are all about the service writer controlling their actions. Step three requires them to motivate and lead someone else to action. The best way to do this is MBA “Management By walking Around”. It simply means you can’t forget about a ticket once it’s in the hands of the tech. You have to get out in the shop regularly (usually every 5-10 minutes on a busy day) and make sure that the work is moving forward. You have to quickly remove any obstacles to success such as parts problems, bad attitudes, or unexpected difficulties with the repair. This is a vital and often overlooked part of auto repair sales.

In step four we’re back to sales. The biggest missed opportunity in most shops is the opportunity to commit the customer to their next visit while they are checking out from this visit. All you have to do is tell them when their next visit is and most people will say ok. Notice I didn’t say ask them when they could make their next visit; I said tell them when their next appointment is. The key is assuming that they are going to return and doing them the favor of scheduling this. I teach several simple techniques in the Advanced Service Writer Sales Training Class that make getting this commitment very easy, simple and natural.

So, there you have it, the four simple (not necessarily easy) steps to selling one million dollars (or more) in service. If you consistently follow these steps the million bucks is yours! An auto repair sale isn’t difficult if you know the steps and have the tools.

What Your Used Car Dealership Does Not Want You to Know About Government Car Auctions

The cat is out of the bag. If you do not know it already you can buy a used car for hundreds or even thousands less than if you bought that same car at a dealership. Do you want to know why? Because you can go to the places where car dealers buy their vehicles and you can buy them yourself for a lot less money.

The place that I am talking about is govt car auctions. And you thought that those were for dealers only. No way. There are some auctions that are strictly for dealers but there are also hundreds more in every state that are open to the public. That means me, you and all your friends and all of the friends of your friends too.

Car dealerships do not want you to know this because that means that they will be selling less vehicles and that means less money in their pockets. Now I know that everyone has to make a living but some (not all) dealers want to stick it to you and you end up paying so much more than you actually should.

At Government car auctions vehicles can be bought for up to 90% off of the retail value and that means a ton of savings for whoever buys them. These vehicles will be either Government pre owned or repo cars that have been designated due to non payment. Many of these vehicles are only a few years old and have low mileage as well.

So why should you pay an outrageous amount for a vehicle when you can get it yourself and save hundreds or thousands of dollars? If you are in the market for a used vehicle it really would have worth your while to check out a govt car auction. And now the secret is out.

What Are Hybrid Cars?

After observing the excessive price hike on gas stations and the concerns of the car owners about the global warming and green house effect, the auto industry has invented the Hybrid Cars to tackle with these issues.

A Hybrid car is a vehicle that uses two or more different energy sources to run the engine. The most frequently used term for such vehicles is HEVs (Hybrid Electric Vehicles), which use an internal combustion engine and electric motors. Apart from electric motors, other energy sources that can be used in a hybrid car are hydrogen, compressed air, liquid nitrogen, wind, solar energy and even coal, wood and other solid combustibles.

The first question that arises is that why do we not simply use an electric car in order to eliminate the hazard of pollution and avoid high gasoline price rates? Why do we need this hybridization? In order to drive a car on the national highway, it should meet certain minimum requirements ie at least 300 miles before refueling, ability to be refueled easily and maintain an average speed near to those of the other vehicles on the road.

Although electric cars produce almost no pollution and do not require any gasoline, their recharging is time-consuming, they move with a comparatively sluggish pace, and require a recharge after a maximum of 100 miles. Gasoline engines on the other hand meet these requirements easily, but have cost fuel consumption and are a huge shareholder to global warming.

Hybrid cars are a bridge and a compromise between these two types of engines, utilizing the positive attributes of both and minimizing their negative impacts. It attempts to significantly increase the mileage and reduce the emissions of a gas-powered car, while overcoming the limits of an electric car.

A hybrid car has a gasoline engine, which is smaller than ordinary cars, uses advanced technologies to reduce emissions and increase efficiency, a fuel tank, which is an energy storage device for the gasoline engine, which is a sophisticated electric motor, which can act as a motor (to draw energy from the batteries to accelerate the car), as well as a generator (to slow down vehicle and return energy to the batteries). Apart from that, HEVs include transmission and batteries which act as a storage device for the electric motor.

The engines of a Hybrid car can be configured in a parallel or series setting. In parallel hybrid, both the engine and the electric motor turn the transmission at the same time. The fuel tank supplies gasoline to the engine. At the same time, the batteries supply power to the electric motor. In series hybrid, the gasoline engine does not provide energy directly to the vehicle. It rotates the generator, and the generator can either charge the batteries or energize the electric motor that drives the transmission.

The major objective of the invention of Hybrid cars were to improve mileage and reduce toxic emissions, and these objectives are very much being met by our HEVs. The grams / mile limit, standardized by most of the countries, is being efficiently met by these vehicles, and the investment is also profitable, considering the high rates of gasoline.

Salvage Cars Significance in Automobile Industry

The business of salvage cars and the parts of such cars contribute to a major part of automotive/automobile industry in the US economy. It has provided jobs for thousands of people not only in US but elsewhere in the world. There are uncountable companies today which make their livelihood out of this business. In this article we will see the practical aspects of salvage car business, precautions to be taken while buying such cars and factors that affect the resale value of such cars.

The salvage titled car is one which faces damage in many ways like a natural calamity like flood or earthquake and mainly by a road accident. Such cars are usually rated with a very less value or even of no value by the insurance companies in the US. The factors that affect this value are the current value of the same car in the market. If the expenditure to repair the damaged car is more than half of its current price, it will be declared as salvage motor.

Then how do such cars get buyers? And how did this salvage business flourish?

Over the period of a decade these cars managed to get a good number of buyers, so much so that the business expanded its reign into the internet world. Not only the auto auctions are held in different parts of the country but also conducted in many websites. The resale value of such cars is individually decided by the buyers but generally, the buyers get carried away with the value declared by the insurance companies.

The reason for this is the extent of damage done to the car. Even after the car is repaired and is ready for use, it is viewed with high suspicions regarding the healthy working of the engine. The buyers generally used to prefer used cars over salvage title cars. Overcoming these hurdles, the automobile auctions performed considerably well in terms of specific salvage cars like Ford and Chevrolet. Sometimes the auto auctions even conduct exclusive ford salvage car auctions and Chevrolet salvage car auctions.

The buyers mainly look at the brand names of automobiles in such cases.

The online presence of this business is through certain websites which allow viewers to actively participate in online auctions and online sale and purchase of repaired cars, damaged cars and salvage title cars. There are two ways of doing this business; one is to buy them and have them in the junkyard. They are also called as Salvage Yards. Owners preserve them in a junkyard and buyers just choose a car of their wish and purchase it. Or even take a few parts from salvage cars and pay only for the parts. This type of business is usually termed as You-Pull-It-Yard. The other way of doing is to buy such cars, repair and sell them or even auction them. There are many companies and individual owners doing this work in their websites.

There are websites which sell reasonably cheap and good salvage cars online; which are mostly privately owned. There are also the US government websites which give information of different used cars like http://www.bar.ca.gov and http://www.vehiclehistory.gov. These are maintained by the government so you need not worry about the duplicate content issues.

As much as it is advantageous and profitable business, certain precautions should be taken while purchasing these cars from dealers. Be careful of fraud dealers who fake the authenticity of the repaired cars. Some tips to value the rates are: find out the exact value assigned by the insurance company of that car before purchasing it, compare the value of salvage car with that of a new car of the same model. By doing this, one will clearly know the genuineness of the proposed rates. Some dealers also include the repair cost into the resale cost. Exclude any such repair costs when you buy salvage cars or salvage auto parts; make sure you clearly have an idea of the market rates of all automobiles.

Find out about more dealers and junkyard from the store locator provided in various websites including the two sites mentioned above.

The Top 5 Things To Consider When Shopping For A Wireless Mobile Cell Phone Service Provider

Technology is being innovated and implemented faster than we can keep up! This is a major reason why consumers are constantly looking for better deals and better technology from their wireless mobile cell phone service provider. As the technology grows up, the pricing of obsolete and older technology goes down. Therefore a constant turnover of customers and accounts is expected. When upgrading your phone or switching service providers, one should definitely do some research to find the best deals and technology.

So you are looking to upgrade your current wireless plan, or you are considering switching your service to a different wireless provider. Here are the top 5 things that you should consider before you make the move to change your mobile cell phone plan:

1. Contract or No Contract – All of the major cell phone service providers in the US offer their version of contract and no contract plans. It is important to decide which option is right for your particular situation. A contract plan usually lasts for 2 years. When purchasing a 2 year contract plan, the major wireless carriers will usually offer a brand new cell phone for free in exchange for the 2 years of service that you are promising to fulfill. The price of the “free” phone is calculated into the service plan, and you end up paying for the phone anyways. This option is superior if you need a new phone right away. The other option is to go with a no contact plan. When going with a no contract plan, the wireless carrier does not usually offer extravagant deals on new cellular devices. Long story short, you end up paying almost full price for your wireless mobile cell phone. There are a handful of companies out there that will allow you to bring your own device to a no contract wireless service plan. Bringing your own device will allow you to take advantage of the lower pricing of a no contract plan without having to buy a phone.

2. Coverage Map – It is very important to look at the service coverage maps from each of the different companies that you are looking at. There is no reason to go with a company that is going to give you a killer deal on a plan and a mobile cell phone when you are not going to be able to take full advantage of the service coverage area. Cell phones really are not of any good use when there is no service, or the service is weak and intermittent.

3. Data Speeds – There are now dozens of cellular networks that traverse the country, and many of them offer high speed data capabilities to the service coverage area. These networks consist of 3G, 4G, and LTE. It is very important that you take a peek at what networks each service provider is using, and to check the availability of these networks in your area. It is also a very good idea to check network data capability with the wireless mobile cell phone that you are using. For example, an iPhone 3GS is not going to be capable of using the high speed LTE data network because it is an older phone and is not engineered to use the newer and faster data networks.

4. Unlimited Everything Plan – Most people gravitate toward a plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data because they are using their cell phones very often. However, most people do not really pay attention to their actual usage, and they could possibly be leaving a bunch of money on the table. Before deciding on a brand new unlimited everything plan, take a look at a recent wireless phone bill and see exactly how much talk, text, and data you are actually using. Then compare these numbers to the new plan that you are looking at to see if you really need to pay all that money for a truly unlimited plan. You might actually be surprised as to how little you use the services that are paid to be unlimited.

5. Customer Service – Last, but not least, one should do some research on the service providers themselves in order to see what kind of customer service these companies are offering. It is never any fun to have a problem with your wireless service provider, and it is a lot less fun to have to call them only to find out that no one in their call center speaks your native language, and they don’t really have a good idea about how to help resolve your issues. Poor customer service can be a real deal breaker! Take some time to look at a company’s track record, do a few Google searches and take a look at a handful of …

How to Price Shop a Tune-Up Auto Repair Service For Your Vehicle

How many of us go phone call to phone call shopping auto repair shops for estimates to do a specific repair to our vehicle? How many of us have had those cost estimates differ from significantly low to unexpectedly high? How do we then sort through the information we get and decide on which auto repair shop will do the work for us?

Most shops do not seem to understand the importance of customer service, then there are those of us that operate on the basis of what is in the best interest of our customers. With this in mind, we have come across several customers asking for an estimate or would just walk in and ask us to "do a tune up" on their vehicle.

Now let me ask, how many different definitions are there for a tune-up? Honestly, it differs between shops and that's why you get so many different variations in your estimates. Go with the cheapest and you might just be getting plugs and wires and inferior parts. Go with the most expensive and you might just be getting everything from plugs all the way to all filters and fluids replaced.

What can you do to make this ordele more simple and be more educated on what service it is you really need and use that knowledge to get a more accurate representation of estimates between repair shops? Since your definition of a tune up may be different between several auto shops, start by asking the first one you call what they see is recommended by the manufacturer.

A good quality auto repair shop will have the resource to tell you. Once you have the info, ask the auto repair shop to break down their estimate or if it's a "package" price, break down each and every part they will be replacing. Use this same method described above for each subsequent auto repair shop you call. Use this knowledge to help you determine which auto repair shop you provided provided you with the best experience, those answer your questions politely, those who were willing to take the time to break down the estimates and one that offers a warranty for the work performed , they may not be the "cheapest" but they are typically the ones that will treat you right and use quality parts on your vehicle.

Hope this short article helped.

Complete Guide to Buying Hybrid Cars

As people are becoming more aware about the global warming, they are switching to the equipments and things that are environment friendly. The ozone layer has already been destroyed enough; so, in order to save it from getting more damaged, the concept of going green has been introduced. More and more people are following this idea these days.

Like the transformation in other things to save the environment and to carefully utilize the natural resources, things are now being designed in a manner to serve this purpose. The same thing is happening with the cars.

With the passage of time, the car industry has gone through many phases of evolution, and it is still evolving. The cars are also manufactured in a more environment friendly manner. One such type is a hybrid-car.

A hybrid-car is known as a hybrid electric car in a more technical term. It works with both internal combustion engine and electric motors. There can be one or more than one electric motors in a hybrid-car. The electric motors run on the batteries that stores charge in them. It depends on you when you want to use the gas and when you want to use the electric motor.

As the hybrid-cars use electric motors, therefore, they use less gas and emit less harmful substances in the air and are more environmental friendly. To make it more convenient, there would be cars totally running on electric motors, but they would take some years to come in the market.

Almost all of the major car manufacturing companies like Toyota and Honda are making hybrid-cars. They are not expensive than the usual cars as regards to the maintenance. They are built to operate in all kinds of weather like other cars.

In order to buy a hybrid-car, you must first consider your requirements. Hybrid-cars are normally small in size; therefore, if you have a large family, it might not be suitable for you.

They are available in different number of mileage. The batteries of the hybrid cars are for the life time of the car, and they generally do not need to be replaced. So, there are no additional costs for the batteries. Even at some point, if you need to dispose them off, they are not going to hurt the environment as they do not contain any toxic substance.

Apart from the batteries, there is no other maintenance cost like for other cars, because the engine and the brake system do not wear down. In the USA, there are also tax rebates for the people using the hybrid cars.

The biggest advantage of using a hybrid-car is that you save up a lot on the gas expenses. You can choose from the wide range available according to your own choice and requirement. People are getting more into the hybrid-cars because of its savings on gas, less or no damage to the environment and reduction on tax features.

Online Auction Safety

We’ve all watched the news and heard story-after-story of the innocent online shopper taken advantage of by a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Let’s face it: when purchasing anything from anywhere on the Web, it’s wise to take precautions before we pull out the Visa and go to town.

Online auctions can be a great place to save money on a unique product inventory, but shopping on a site of this kind has its own set of safety rules you should be aware of.

  • Online auction sites often allow most any average Joe to sign up for a seller’s membership. If you’re on such a site, be sure to check out their seller reviews or feedback ratings from real-life buyers, like on eBay and Overstock.com.
  • If you receive an email soliciting your personal information, it’s wise to call the online auction you’re a member of before you reply or click on a link. It’s common for phishing emails to be sent when money or auction accounts are involved.
  • Stay on the online auction site itself! In a practice called ‘bid siphoning,’ scam artists may attempt to lure you from a legitimate auction site, promising you ‘lower rates’ or a great deal. This could lead to fraud and stolen identity.
  • Know your particular online auction’s buyer protection policy. For example, uBid makes their Certified Merchants Program mandatory for all sellers, whereby all interested parties are screened for criminal activity, ensuring a fraud-free experience.
  • Research who you’re buying from! Just like you wouldn’t shop on a no-name website, don’t trust just any seller. Opt for a seller with many good ratings, diverse payment options, and a solid return policy.

Online auctions house an infinite number of bargain buys and products you just can’t find elsewhere. If you so happen to run into a sticky situation when using one, your first response should be to contact the individual auction site’s customer support line or designated Help contact. Then, if you feel your situation wasn’t resolved properly, you can always turn to the Better Business Bureau or file a complaint on the FTC website. Here’s to safe shopping!

How to Get Affordable Automobile Insurance in Minnesota

Minnesota is one of the states where forced insurance is legal. This means that for anyone who purchases a late model car, the lien holder can take out comprehensive coverage on the vehicle and charge the new owner for the cost. Not only is this intrusive but it tends to be very expensive too. A much better and affordable approach is to seek out your own automobile insurance policy.

When you are in the market for automobile insurance in Minnesota first consider who will be covered under your policy. If you or your spouse is over the age of fifty-five, you can save on insurance costs if you take a defensive driving course to prove that you aren’t a risk behind the wheel. If you have a teenager in the home that is itching to drive, enroll them in a driver’s training course. Classes like this, although costly, do help to reduce insurance costs substantially.

Another way to find affordable automobile insurance may be with your home insurance company or the company that underwrites your family’s health insurance. Many companies offer reduced rates to clients who purchase two or more types of insurance from them. This is a great way to actually save on all your insurance costs, so ask your agent if this is an option for you.

Parking in a safe place has rewards in terms of the money saved on insurance too. If you have a garage that is filled with odds and ends, clear it out and put your car in there at night. The insurance company you deal with may see that as a safer spot than on the street and they’ll give a small discount for it. You won’t know what automobile insurance deals you are eligible for until you ask your agent what discounts there are.

Best Time To Buy A Car

When is the best time to buy a car? How to buy a car manuals charge big money to tell you this, but we'll do it for free here, and in a lot fewer words!

One school of thought on when the best time is to buy a car says that you should purchase your new or used car at Christmas time. With everyone else looking for Christmas presents, no one's thinking of buying a new car; dealers work harder to make a deal and salesmen are more willing to haggle down to your price.

This same school of thought says that you can also get a good deal from July to October because this is when dealers are trying to get rid of the current year's inventory to make way for the new models. For a lot of reasons, we've come to take model close-out sales with a large grain of salt-they're usually not nearly as good for the buyer as they sound.

The other school of thought says that the best time to buy a car is when you're ready to buy one-you want to buy one, you've done to research it. Car dealers and salesmen will do everything in their power to get you to buy a car the day you walk into their showroom-not the car you want to buy either, but the car they'll make the money off of.

Whether you decide the best time to buy a car is at Christmas, during the end-of-year close-outs or when you want to buy a car, no one who knows anything about the subject would argue that you should first research the car you're interested in and learn how to get the best deal on it. Any time can be a great time to buy a car, and you can get taken to the car cleaners any time of the year too.

Still not sure?

Here are four simple tips to get the upper hand in your car purchase or lease-whatever time of the year you do it. If you're looking to buy a car you should begin with these tips.

: some dealers refuse to haggle over the cost of a car, so once you make your opening offer, they will not accept anything higher. (Go somewhere else.)

: never talk about monthly costs during your negotiations. You'll pay less if you focus on the cost of the car and all the things that come with it.

: never buy a car when you're in desperate need for one because a dealer will see that and take advantage. Never wait until your old car is dead before searching for a new one because you should give yourself time to shop around for one and get the best deal possible. Desperation clouds judgment.

: do all your research before any money changes hands.

The best time to buy a car is not a date or season on the calendar, but a time on your schedule when you have the time to do what's necessary to get yourself a great deal. We firmly believe you should start with reading a book on the subject. Great luck!
