Car Insurance – Keeping the Premium Low

Car insurance in the city is almost always a must, if you want to make sure you have protection against pricey repairs for damage caused by an auto collision. Areas of high traffic often produce many more car accidents then more remote locations. Shopping around for NJ car insurance that will not drain your bank account is easy to do. There are many ways to keep the monthly payments low as well. The following list describes various types of discounts available.

Multi Car Discount

If you have multiple cars on the same policy, the first one is full price and each car added on after this one gets a discounted rate. This is an excellent type of discount when there are many cars to be insured. Sometimes, this is the only way a large family is able to afford insurance for all cars within the household.

Driver Courses

New drivers that have taken Drivers Education will get a discount on car insurance. Another way to receive discounts is by taking a Driver Safety Course or a Defensive Drivers Course. Both of these need to be approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles in New Jersey for them to qualify for discounts on insurance in NJ. These courses can also help to repair bad driving records caused by various traffic violations.

Car Safety Features

Many new cars have excellent safety features such as air bags, automatic safety belts, anti-lock breaks, and anti-theft devices fitted to the car. Insurance companies view these features as being worthy of a discount, since they can easily prevent more damage from occurring. For instance, if there is a collision that was enough enough to set off the airbags, then it must have been a fairly serious accident. If the airbags had not been in place, the insurance company would probably have been shelling out a lot more money in medical payments to the driver of this vehicle. Therefore, these discounts are sort of like a 'thank you' from the insurance company for purchasing a car that can extremely efficiently save them money as well.

Finding NJ car insurance that does not cost an arm and a leg is possible. As you can see from the information above, most car insurance agencies try to provide at least some form of discount for their policy holders. With all the discounts available for the safety features found on newer cars, it's more beneficial to buy a new model and get rid of that old clunker you've been insuring.

Top Causes of Car Accidents

Experts state that the major causes of car accidents are driver distractions. Dangerous distractions that can lead to an accident include cell phones and other gadgets that drivers use as they drive. Cell phones, laptops, electric razors, etc. causes drivers to take their eyes off the road for seconds at a time with the potential to cause a serious, if not deadly, accident. In response to this, some states in the US have banned the use of hand-held cell phones while people are driving. The alternative is to use a hands free ear bud that is lightweight and comfortable, and allows a driver to carry on a conversation without diversions.

Another dangerous distraction is when a driver who has been drinking and then attempts to drive. The effects of alcohol can and does raise havoc behind the while. Anyone with a blood alcohol level of .01 is considered unfit to drive. The effects of driving while intoxicated include drowsiness, loss of focus and the inability to judge distances and reaction times.

Rubbernecking and tailgating are other potentially dangerous habits that many practice while driving. Rubbernecking occurs when drivers slow down to look at another accident on the road or anything that looks unusual on the highway. When a driver slows a car down too quickly, the driver in the car behind often times doesn’t have enough time to slow down or stop and runs into the back of the vehicle in the lead. Rear end collisions can lead to serious injuries. The same applies for tailgating in that a driver who is following a car too closely may not have enough distance to stop suddenly, and the potential for a serious accident is eminent.

A driver’s behavior causes many accidents; still others are caused by mechanical failure or road conditions. There are technical solutions that are available to help with these problems and have contributed to a decline in the death rates caused by automobile accidents. They include proximity monitors that let a driver know how close they are to the vehicle ahead; sobriety detectors, that measure the amount of alcohol that a driver has consumed and drifting monitors that alert a driver when his or her car drifts too far to one side of the road or the other.

The Benefits of Autoresponders

This article will enlighten you about the benefits and advantages of autoresponders. Read on and find out more.

The Benefits of Autoresponders:

1.) How are anonymous website visitors converted to subscribers? How does this happen? There will always be thousands of anonymous people who will visit your site. With the use of an autoresponder system you are able to convert these anonymous visitors into subscribers. You can attract these visitors to subscribe to your autoresponder by giving them something of value or perceived value such as offering them something of high-quality in exchange for their email address. Once they are subscribed, you can send them auto-messages about your products and services. This is now a tool for your promotion.

2.) Long-lasting Relationships with Customers without having to invest in so much time and effort. Your responder will do most the work for you. In this system, you can actually set a schedule for your messages to be sent to your clients and subscribers. You just have to specify the day, date and time it will be sent. Most businessmen even send greetings to their clients on those ‘special’ days. In this way, they will make each one of their subscribers feel special.

3.) Allows you to save money because this system will help to auto mate your business. You do not need to hire more marketing staff because the autoresponder will do all the marketing for you. As said above, you can send your clients anything about your product in any given time and day. For example, if you have something new in your company then this auto-response system can actually send messages to your customers and subscribers about the latest developments and happenings within your company. Instead of hiring a person to market your product or service, this system will do it all for you.

4.) Flawless follow-ups. With an autoresponder system, all you have to is to include is your contact details to all your subscribers. When you do a follow up email, all your client and prospective clients will be sent emails automatically without missing anyone. This is a very efficient way to give reminders to your list about future promotions and special offers as well. It is an assurance that your message will be received by anyone who is subscribed.

5.) It can double your sales. Doubling your sales can happen because of the constant communication to all your subscribers. This system will constantly remind your customers of what products they can purchase on a daily or weekly basis. Their needs will be met more often if you remind them about this every day. This is how you will get more sales.

These are just five of the many benefits of using an autoresponder system. These are also some of the reasons why this system should be used in most businesses today. If you are an entrepreneur, be sure to use an autoresponder system. It will be of great assistance to you. It has helped many businessmen already. So why don’t you try and use an autoresponder system now?

Discount Caribbean Travel

Discount Caribbean travel can include discount airfares, discount hotel rates, discount tour prices and other types of travel discounts. There are last minute discount deals. Last minute travel discount deals can save you thousands of dollars over normal rates, if you are flexible and adventurous enough to take advantage of them.

One method to find travel discount is the Internet. Internet has some of the best travel discounts available. Most travel providers from individual airlines and cruise lines to online travel sites offer newsletters.

A lot of resorts, hotels, restaurants, tour operators, transportation carriers, and other travel providers offer special travel discounts for their older travelers. Several travel service providers do not offer regular travel discounts. Many travel discounts apply only at certain times or may carry other restrictions. You have to do a little research before your reservations. Try a variety of travel services during the days or seasons when the best travel discounts are offered. Some organizations offer membership card to discount the travel.

Some senior travel discounts are also available. While there are many great travel discounts available to seniors, the senior discount scheme is not always the best deal available. Before asking for the senior discount, be sure to check out special travel discounts that may be available to people regardless of age. Sometimes they prove better deals than senior discounts. You should compare all the deals that are available.

Some travel discounts are attached to membership in various senior organizations, while others are simply the privileges of age. If you are interested in particular travel discounts, you should find out how old you need to be to qualify and whether membership in an organization will be required to receive these travel discounts.

A Guide For Government Seized Auctions

If you want to purchase a new car then it is definitely worth checking out any government closed auctions near you. You can usually find some pretty awesome cars for unbeatable prices. The discount is often anywhere from ten to ninety percent off from the market value. Before you go to government selected auctions, there are some things you should know in order to ensure you get the best deal possible.

The most important thing you can take with you is knowledge. Make sure that you know what the market value of the vehicle is that you want to bid on. Not knowing this information could mean that you accidently spend way too much for a vehicle.

Inspect any vehicle that you are interested in very closely. Look under the hood and over every inch of the car to make sure that there is nothing that could go wrong. You are buying the car in as is condition. You can not return it and there is no warranty at all, so if there is something wrong with it then you will have to bear the costs.

Ask if there are any buyers fees before you bid so that you can avoid any surprises. Sometimes you will have to pay up to ten percent of the winning bid. You may have to wait for a while to have the car's papers mailed to you so make sure to ask about this before you bid. Especially if you need a new vehicle immediately and can not wait.

You will learn a lot at government seized auctions and they can be a lot of fun. You will find some great deals, and some bad ones. Knowing the right information before you go is key to making it a successful experience for you.

Kleer Wireless Technology

Many people are familiar with and use Bluetooth wireless technology. This technology comes installed in many phones, mp3 players and other electronic devices. For people that want to get rid of the wires on their mp3 though there is a much better alternative. Kleer wireless technology has many advantages over Bluetooth for listening to music. So let us explore what these might be.

Kleer technology was developed specifically to come up with a better way of transmitting music wirelessly. The biggest issue with Bluetooth is its lack of fidelity. Kleer has succeeded quite well in this regard. The transmission and reception is CD quality digital sound. This is light years ahead of Bluetooth, which can only do as well as 320kbps/s. Most of the time, with most Bluetooth devices, this optimal is rarely even approached. Kleer does not suffer any loss of quality for most audio recordings.

There were other issues that were also nicely resolved by this new wireless protocol. The channel that Kleer uses (RF-based) is not subject to interference or drops that can happen with other wireless devices. Transmissions are clear and they stay that way.

One cool feature is that up to four users can listen to the same wireless transmission. This is not likely to matter much to most people but it does open us some interesting possibilities for using the technology.

A really big bonus that goes along with the clear channel reception is the systems power use. Kleer uses fewer channels than Bluetooth to transmit its signal. This saves power which means you can go longer between charges. Kleer can also pack in more in a smaller space since it can reduce the size of the batteries needed to power earbuds or the transmitter. The technology also adjusts power use according to its detection of how far the sound needs to be sent to the receiver.

The final kicker is the distance and robustness of the signal being sent. The technology has the capability of being sent over much greater distances than Bluetooth, which breaks up over extremely short ranges. With Kleer you can easily walk around a large room with a stationary device in one central location having no trouble delivering quality sound to your wireless device.

So why isn’t Kleer everywhere yet? One problem is that the technology is relatively new. The manufacturer (Kleer) guards its protocol tightly and with its tight control over a great new sound delivery system, they are able to charge a lot for its use. So the price point for its use is currently over 100 dollars. As time goes on and more devices offer Kleer it is possible the price will come down.

Welding Jobs: Ideas You Can Use At Home To Make Money Welding (No Boss While You Make $100,000)

What if you could make $100,000 a year welding from home?

What if you could make even an extra $500 a month from home, using your current skills? If you are a welder with basic welding skills and you are between jobs or you are being under paid in your current job, it might be worth your time to read this article – let’s think outside the box for just a minute on how you can make money welding from home.

From Home Welding # 1:

Teaching or tutoring any skill is a very profitable business. In any town of any size you’ll see at least one tutoring business in a strip mall brick and mortar location. In that same town will be at least a dozen other tutors working from home, making good money.

Yes, most of the time they are tutoring math and reading to students. Lean back and think about what skills you have that can also be used in a tutoring business you can set up and milk cash from, like milk from a cow.

Let’s say you are good enough with TIG to weld razor blades or pop can butts.

If you can teach a non welder to operate a TIG torch good enough to go on and practice on their own at their home in about 3 hours of your hands on theirs – they will pay up to $100 an hour for 3 hours of TIG instruction. Just 2 students a day would bring you $100,000 a year. If you think I’m kidding I’m NOT! There are many reasons why education is so valuable – and that includes intense, focused tutoring in welding.

6G pipe welding is the highest paid of all welding certifications – most 6G welders make $100k to $300k a year – and demand is crazy. However, if you are a 6G welder and you want to stay home, you can set up and teach 6G in your garage. Let’s say you do this with 7 students, each paying you $10,000 for a 3 month course. Yes, they will pay it – especially if you show them how they will have more time with your hand on theirs (the #1 secret to learning 6G fast).

From Home Welding # 2:

I was in Palm Springs the other day. I have been in and around the trades for 30 years… and when you see a tradesman’s truck and it is late model without dents or many scratches, clean, organized and well equipped, it means (99% of the time) that guy is making money.

I pulled up to a light behind just such a truck – “Joe’s BBQ Service and Repair.” That’s it – that is all Joe does. He will weld cast aluminum or steel. He’ll clean and polish. He’ll replace a burner or a control. OR he’ll buy your old unit and sell / or sell you a new one.

Yes, you need a town with a lot of high end BBQs. Other than that, go get it.

From Home Welding # 3:

Large steel cut outs. In art of all kinds, size matters. For example, 20 years ago we purchased two 4′ long coat racks – each is a piece of 1.5″ x 1.5″ x 1/8″ angle 4′ long with 6 horse shoes welded to the angle to hang the coats.

On the horizontal surface of the angle is welded a scene made of 7 horse and 7 tree cut-outs. We paid $185 for each of these 20 years ago… that would be about $300 a piece in today’s dollars.

The problem with you making these is that the 14 cut outs on each unit are too small too many to cut by hand – you need a computerized plasma table to make these.

Here is where the magic of size makes all the difference.

The artist who drew the cut outs on our coat rack was good. Each of the 7 horses is different and beautiful, as well as the trees. Any – or all of these – cut outs can be scaled up with chalk onto a sheet of say 4′ x 8′ x 3/16″ steel. Now, all you need is a plasma or an oxy torch to create the large version.

What would a horse cut from a 4′ x 8′ sheet sell for?

$300 to $700. It would depend on where you are and how you market it. Marketing is a large part of any business. Good marketing is not hard – you can do it.

You can see, if you could get a “business pipe” full of inventory and sales and you were delivering 2 horses a day, you could easily make $100k. The other major opportunity with big cut outs is gates. The …

An All Inclusive Vacation in the Beautiful Caribbean Islands

There are many all inclusive Caribbean vacation packages that are available to tourists worldwide. The typical cost of an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation can range between $ 700 and $ 1000 per person for a four-day trip. There are many options that are offered by travel agents and you should browse your options thoroughly before making a decision.

All inclusive Caribbean vacation packages

Travel agents often perform many promotional activities in order to further their business, especially during holiday season when competition is highest, and it is this time that you can find the best deals for all inclusive Caribbean vacation packages. Since these packages are typically announced close to the holiday and fall seasons you really need to be careful with your planning so that you can get your tickets booked and everything mapped out in order to cover as many places as you can visit in the short duration of your all inclusive Caribbean vacation package.

Depending on the type of package that you opt for, there will be different kinds of concessions and facilities offered to you. For example, some packages may include sailing, kayaking, and tennis at the place where you stay. Some other packages would go a different way and offer more options for kids. Yet others would offer casinos, spas, health clubs, temporary golf memberships, and so on. And there are always the extra offers at an additional cost that might include water-sports, fitness centers, piano bars, and so forth. It should be clear that the greater the options provided within and all inclusive Caribbean vacation package, the higher will be its cost.

Fine Print

Most people just look at the broad details of all inclusive Caribbean vacation packages but that is a very bad idea, you should look at everything in detail, especially the fine print (or items that are followed by a *), because these are the hidden costs that no one will tell you about until you get the bill. You are going on a vacation for a pleasant time, so do not let something as silly as a hidden cost spoil your fun. Most packages will include the air fare and accommodation costs but you should read to be sure whether the meals are included or not and how much, if anything, you will have to pay for the local activities once you are on vacation.

Resort choices

Do not select an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package solely on the merit of cost and features. Check out all the facilities that will be available at the resort you will be staying and whether it measures up to your requirements. Different people have different needs. Some need fitness centers, beauty shops, sports activities. Families with children have different kinds of requirements so you should be sure that you will be comfortable where you are going.

Selling on eBay requires some work and it will take a little time to build your business and make it a success. Before you begin, you will need to find a product that is popular with those who shop there.

Here are some eBay selling strategies:

1. Set the starting price low. This will simplify more traffic and get bidders interested in the item. Let's face it if a bidder thinks they can get an expensive item for $ 1 they will bid on the item even if it is something they do not want. This will usually get a higher final price on your auction items.

2. When possible, do not use reserve prices. Bidders may get discouraged and not bid if they see a large reserve price. The idea of an auction, for most, is to try to see how cheaply they can get an item they would like to own. Use reserve prices with caution.

3. Always include a photo in your listing. When a bidder can see the quality of the item they are more likely to bid on that item.

4. If you have more than one of any item, try selling them one at a time. You will find bidders will be looking for the item to come on the auction block again if they were interested in it before they will jump at the chance to bid on it again.

5. Try to use correct spelling when you write the sales pitch for ebay. You want the bidder to think you are intelligent and in control of your business.

6. Use descriptive words when writing your sales pitch. You can even mention the retail price of the item. This will show the bidder how much less he is getting the item for and he will be more likely to bid.

7. Auctions should never be shorter than 7 days. This will give your item time to be seen by more bidders. The longer the auction, the better results.

8. Make sure your auction does not end during peak bidding hours. Make it a bit after 9 pm And you will see a better result.

9. Watch your shipping costs, try and keep them reasonable. Check with your dropshiper, UPS, or post office to see how much you will need to send the item, and charge accordingly.

10. Try to avoid negative feedback. Make sure you describe the item correctly, so there will be no confusion about what the bidder expects. Also try to make sure the item gets to the seller in a timely manor.

11. PayPal is your best bet when collecting money from bidders. It is a safe way for you to receive funds without taking credit cards yourself. PayPal offers a debit card that gives you immediate access to your money as soon as it is posted in your PayPal account.

Paying attention to these ebay selling strategies will have you walking away with more sales.

1) Senior Citizen Discounts: Special discounts for senior citizens, a gradually increasing segment with specific needs, is a great idea. In fact, there is a site entirely dedicated to this segment – seniordiscounts.com. Through senior citizen specific schemes you can promote any product or service that senior citizens may need and build a whole new market segment. For example Super Religare Wellness had a scheme where it gave 10% off to all senior citizens. Even Ayurcare offered special discounts to senior citizens for its therapies and detoxification programs.

2) Discounts to Niche Customers: Select the target segment you wish to focus on – say, a particular membership card holder that suits your profile – and offer them a discount. For example, a top end restaurant providing discounts to Club Mahindra holders would bring exclusive focus to an attractive, new segment.

3) Tie-ups with Banks: A tie-up with banks to provide special discounts for customers who use their bank cards at your retail outlet provides access to many potential customers at negligible cost. Several banks are ready to do this.

4) Early bird customers: How about early bird schemes where customers get special discounts for buying early? Such schemes prod customers into buying early to avail the discount. From travels to wellness centres and even corporate training programs, early bird incentives are always a great way to promote your products and services. Wild Frontiers, an adventure travel site offered a 5% discount for early bird registrations while VITS Wellness Centre, Andheri offered a limited period special discount for early bird couples.

5) Reward the customer for his efforts: Reward your customer for the efforts they put in for their own good. ‘Fitness First’, a fitness centre, rewarded its customers for losing each kilogram, with a Rs. 500 discount for each kilogram lost.

6) Use short codes effectively: Let your customers participate in an on-the-spot contest, and in the process get their mobile numbers too. Give a freebie or a discount to whoever participates in the contest. Subway used this scheme by asking customers to enter a contest: Subway gets the customers contact details such as mobile number and email id while customer gets discounts or freebies.

7) Special Event promotion: A special event such as an anniversary, festival or a special day like Valentine’s Day is a great time to offer a promotion scheme. Give a special discount to anyone who registers or buys on occasions such as Children’s day, Mother’s day, Father’s day, Teacher’s day etc. For example Gold’s gym offered a special discount for couples who joined the gym on Valentine’s day and Big Cinema gave away free tickets for women patrons on Woman’s Day.

8) Price guarantee: When real estate prices are falling and people do not buy because of uncertainty, a promotional scheme that offers to pass on the price benefit in case of lower prices in the future, drives sales. A limited period offer for those who book during the period, protects those from future price fluctuations. Aparna Constructions in Hyderabad has offered such a promotional scheme in view of the uncertainty in the real estate market to assuage fears of the customers and provide them with a window of opportunity to invest.

9) Surprise gift: Offer a surprise gift along with a service. Getting something free in the most unexpected of times always remains etched as one of the most memorable experiences for customers. It does not matter whether it is a small gift or a big one, what matters is that you have made the customer feel like the lucky one. For example Jaipan sells a combo package of home appliances such as a vacuum cleaner, toaster, blender and roti maker and throws in a a surprise gift!

10) Social causes: If your service has a social element to it, offer a promotional pricing with it. For example, Times Matrimonials, offers a discount for those who wish to advertise in their matrimonial column without a dowry requirement (or without a caste and religion bar). Similarly they offer discounts for senior citizens and widow/widowers …

Mobile Banking Applications: Implementing WAP Billing

Wireless Application Protocol, commonly known by the acronym WAP, is a free worldwide standard allowing mobile tools like smartphones, iPhones and laptops to acquire an internet connection while becoming compatible with large network bearers. The ability to authorize transactions allows WAP to supersede the recent implementation of mobile banking applications through 2-way messaging (SMS).

The WAP billing process operates through Wireless Markup Language (WML), an HTML adaptation for constructing wireless applications via independent platforms. In a standard WAP billing process, data packets associated with wireless devices travel by way of wireless networks in the WML configurations to a WAP gateway/server. The most essential part of the data becomes reconfigured and transferred to a more common HTML-capable web server. The functionality of this process is only possible if the HTML packets successfully travel through a WAP gateway/server, en route to a wireless device.

The WAP solutions described are usually in two parts:

1) a WAP server that distributes information and applications and

2) a WAP gateway controlling access

The successful operation of these is based upon business models incorporated by banks/operators. At the present time, WAP banking systems are employing closed models that allow WAP servers and gateways to reside on the operating site of the network. This allows banks to release control of their information and provide access to mobile banking applications and operators. Unfortunately, the aforementioned closed models come equipped with a security flaw that protects vital information by way of “clear text” via the gateway. On the other hand, open model solutions equipped with gateway and server situations programmed within banks’ secured intranet will counter any threats while the closed models allow marketability free of burdensome installation costs for banks.

Let’s face it, in most cases it is required that customers take the initiative for their banking needs like going to an ATM, making a deposit or transfer, or calling a call center with their dreadful automated customer service systems. These are channels that require you, the customer, to take the initiative. Whether it is driving, walking or waiting, any delay can make managing our finances troublesome. However, if we take advantage of the fact that there is more than four times the amount of phones (smartphones, iPhones, etc.) as PC’s in circulation today, our lives could be less troublesome. With mobile banking applications and WAP billing being used by major banks around the world, banking can be done with less hassle, more convenience and more security.

Text to Screen – A Very Clever Use of Technology

I was at my friend’s hotel bar the other night and had the usual great time dancing to the live bands they have playing 7 days a week. This is a special bar with a very interesting business model – because in fact it hosts a television show that highlights up and coming new bands with interviews of the band members and several of their songs played on TV where the bands can demonstrate their talent to a live “studio” audience. The business model is interesting because rather than have a music studio as a major expense, my friend has a revenue making bar which he uses to make his television program.

The TV program may only be shown on the public network which is notorious for having low ratings, but it certainly does have a strong following with the bar-patrons and the fans of the different bands and the TV ratings for my friends music show has been steadily growing even though the total network is relatively flat.

Having a few quiet ales with my friend, he explained how he built up the “brand loyalty” for both the bands and his TV show. And it was here where I saw a very fast way to use technology to grow a business and loyalty with its customer base. The technology is called “Text to Screen” and it is where people send text messages on their phones – which we all know everyone has at least one mobile phone, and the messages can be shown on television and on the web.

My friend uses “text to screen” within his hotel for the audience to vote on songs they favor and for them to request songs to be played. And he also promotes it on his television show for competitions and viewer ratings of the different bands. The collective results of sometimes hundreds of incoming text messages get tallied up in real-time and shown both on the TV screen and the Internet, so there is a real-time interaction with the audience. I’m very impressed with this clever use of technology.

If you face the same dilemma, consider the major reasons to buy a second-hand auto.

1. Affordability

Affordability is, probably, the major reason to get a used automobile. Whether you buy a 2-year old vehicle or the one, which is over 10 years old, it will still cost less as compared to a new car. This is no wonder, because autos depreciate with the lapse of time and even those cars, which initially were quite expensive, may cost several times less.

2. Certified Pre-Owned Options

When you buy a used auto, you are always worried about its condition and possible shortcomings you don’t know about. This is quite risky, of course, and this is what often makes customers give preference to new vehicles, even if they are much more expensive. Fortunately, contemporary carmakers start offering versatile Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) options, which make used cars a nice money investment. These programs as well as their terms may differ a lot from each other, which basically depends upon the manufacturer. In most cases, CPO programs imply special warranty terms and some other options depending upon your current needs. This is a pretty nice solution for used car owners.

3. Extensive Choice

Hundreds of new car models emerge in the market each year. This number keeps increasing with every passing day, offering freedom of choice to customers all over the world. However, new cars cost a lot and you have to be sure about your financial abilities, if you decide to opt for the one. When it comes to selection of used automobiles, the variety of models available for sale is much more impressive. This means that your choice is more extensive. This is just the matter of your taste, requirements and budget. You can choose any car models you like – even those, which are not manufactured anymore.

4. Lower Insurance Rates

When it comes to insurance, new cars are undoubtedly more costly. This is because the value of an auto is that aspect, which is primarily considered in the process of insurance rate determination. In other words, the more valuable a vehicle is – the more expensive the insurance policy will be. This is quite understandable, because repairing a valuable car will cost more as compared to a used auto. Thus, when you buy a second-hand car, you will pay less for the insurance policy.

5. Powerful Aftermarket Communities

When you buy a new auto, you will have to look for the aftermarket community to help you solve your problems for quite a long period of time. This won’t happen, if you opt for a used automobile. The older a car is – the more extensive and powerful aftermarket community it has. This is a notable support for any car owner, because there are many questions and answers you can discuss with the owners of similar car models.

6. Lower Registration Expenses

The cost of car registration generally depends upon the location you live in. It may differ even from one state to another, not to mention different countries at all. However, registering a used auto is much cheaper than a new car in any country. This often depends upon the age, power and even weight of a car as well as on other important characteristics. What’s more, some countries charge annual taxes for cars depending upon their age.

4 Different Types of Marketing Copy

Whether it is offline or online content, most companies fail to make a distinction between the different types of content they publish. Often a failure to do this makes it harder to communicate with readers and satisfy their needs.

On occasions, each type will over-lap, but to begin with it helps to make the distinction between:

1. Transactional Copy – that makes readers want to buy

As a marketer, this is the most important type. If you have a product or service to sell be upfront about the fact that you want to sell it! Too many companies present what they offer as information – in the hope that someone will buy.

Customers who are in a buying frame of mind want to be sold to. The easier you can make it for them the more likely they will be to buy. This means being crystal clear on:

  • Your offer
  • Your price
  • Your benefits
  • Your credibility
  • Your guarantee

You also need to give very clear instruction on what you want them do. If they need to fill in a form, tell them. Just do not assume they will do what you want.

Often, the more intellectual a product or service, the more resistant the company is to use sales language to sell. It is a very British trait, somehow linked to the idea that selling is vulgar and what 'sales-people' do.

If you are in that camp, you need to get over it. In this economic downturn getting good at writing copy that sells is gong to be the most important type of content you publish.

2. Information – that educates the reader

We are all dependent on information. Your readers want information that:

  • Educates them about your product or service
  • Is concise in the way that it is written and presented
  • Is from a reputable source so that it can be relied upon
  • Can be accessed quickly and easily.

When readers are in 'information only' mode they do not want to be sold to. It's important to make that distinction so that you deliver only what is relevant.

With printed material, the content carries a physical sense of authority and professionalism. When online, the expectation is slightly different. Your reader either wants to be informed immediately or to discover the reputable source. This is why it is sometimes more cost effective to offer specialist content via a free report in .pdf format or a separate HTML page.

3. News – that is instantly memorable

The decline in newspaper circulation does not mean that you do not want to be informed. Instead, online media means that you can mix and match the way you receive news. If you are happy to receive it in a very granular form, then the smaller the granule the more likely you are to digest other bits.

The BBC News Channel is probably the best example of this. It's brilliant at giving you the facts but giving you the option to go for more detail.

In contrast, most businesses tend to use News as a way of boring the reader about a recent achievement. They go into far too much detail when the focus should be on 'selling' just one or two memorable facts.

4. Lifestyle – that touches the emotions

This type of content is about brand and image. It's designed to appeal at an emotional level so that what is published creates a sense of desire. High street retailers are obvious examples here.

There is minimal copy because the content is image led. Here, the psychology of color comes into stronger play than the use of words. Look at any expensive / upmarket product and often you will see a design that uses a mix of red, black and gold. These are aspirational colors associated with wealth, mystery and luxury.

Lifestyle content is obviously expensive to produce so it needs to be thought of as part of long-term brand value.

Your objective is to be clear about the type of content you are working with and who the target reader is in order to have a 'message to market' match.

Internet Communication

Email, Instant Messaging, Blogs, RSS, Forums and Listservs: What's Next?

How do we keep Internet communication simple? Let's start by taking a look at the different methods used to communicate on the web. It is important to understand the nuances and benefits of the different forms.

Email

This is the most popular communication method. Users typically use desktop software to receive, read and respond to messages. Some users use web-based mail and manage messages in a web browser like Internet Explorer. The downfall to email communication is that anyone can send email messages to anyone else if they have (or guess) the correct email address. This system's Achilles heel is its simplicity and universal popularity.

Email accounts are often banned by spam or unsolicited email. Despite software developers having created complex spam filters and legislators having introduced new anti-spam legislation, the problem persists and spam continues to burden email as a messaging medium.

Instant Messaging
Instant messaging allows users to "chat" in real time. Users can send text messages to anyone online and receive instant replies if the user is also online. The "instant" fad gave way to parental fears as children made "friends" online. With no way to confirm if "friends" are who they represent themselves to, and multiple security holes, instant messaging has taken a back seat in internet communication.

Blogs
Online journals and daily diaries have taken hold. Some blogs are interactive, allowing users to respond and comment on posts. Locating topic-specific blogs that provide relevant and interesting content on a daily basis can be a challenge. The nature of a blog is to contain fresh public content. As our lives become more complicated blogs are often abandoned, as they require constant updating.

RSS
RSS is the latest messaging medium and shows genuine promise as a means to communicate. RSS files are produced as XML files and are designed to provide content summaries of news or information. The largest benefit to RSS is that it does not have the spam issues inherent to email; users opt-in to the RSS feeds that interest them.

Forums / Newsgroups
A forum is an online discussion group. Forums can be newsgroups, or they can be web-based discussion groups. Forums have proven themselves as valuable business resources – often creating communities of customers helping customers. Without moderation and oversight they can potentially create an unfriendly environment.

Message Board Software – http://www.messaging-software.net/message-board-software.htm

Listservs
Liststervs are mailing list programs for communicating with other people who have subscribed to the same list. Using e-mail, you can participate in listservs relating to your topics of interest. When you submit a message to the server, your message is relayed to all on the listserv. You receive messages from other participants via e-mail.

What's Next?
Internet communication is intrinsically tied to the hardware options available. Wireless technology has accelerated the development of messaging software, opening the market to a dizzying array of devices for web access. Where we were once tied to a keyboard and mouse, we will soon be navigating the web with our voices from a moving automobile, or browsing via screens in our eyewear, with tiny cameras reading our eye movements to move the cursor and make selections. Our interactive conversations will include more and more participants at once. Evaluating the many options and choosing what works best for you is the first step to effectively communicating on the web.

Counter Surveillance Techniques – Simple Methods That Can Be Used Effectively

Many people do not understand the reasons why they may need to practice counter surveillance techniques, and the people who need it most are often unfamiliar with the equipment required. One misconception that many people hold is that if you're not doing anything "wrong", you have no reason to worry about being secretly recorded. In today's cutthroat economy, this is simply not the case. Unfortunately, in the world of business more and more of your competitors are trying to gain an edge on you by spying and using surveillance techniques.

You can avoid many common methods of surveillance by using some basic counter surveillance techniques. Far too many people underestimate simple precautions such as shredding mail, locking mailboxes, and using a screen saver on the computer. You can take simple steps on a daily basis to help prevent against both surveillance and identity theft, at little to no initial cost. If you continue to be sure that someone is spying on you, you can consider more advanced surveillance techniques and equipment.

Common sense can be one of your best weapons against malicious listening or video capture. Take the time to check your home or business on a daily basis for anything unusual. Even seemingly insignificant differences can be a sign that someone is watching you. Modern spy cameras and listening devices can be installed in a ceiling or wall with only minimal damage that is visible to the naked eye. By being proactive, you can catch a spy in the act before they gather too much essential information about your family or business.

In the workplace, common sense can also help keep sensitive company information private. By taking the time to use simple techniques such as password protection on your files and a screensaver on your desktop, you are protecting your confidential information. Other steps you can take are turning of your computer when you leave the office, being sure your remove papers from the copy machine, fax machine, or printer, and always knowing where your keys or ID badge are at all times. These simple measures may not seem like counter surveillance techniques, but they are! Imagine what a spy could do with the information on your computer, or by using your keys to gain access to your office file room!

If you find anything during your routine checks, you should consider advanced counter surveillance techniques to secure your business. Discretion and common sense can provide some protection, but counter surveillance equipment will be necessary if you need protection from the prying eyes of a determined person or organization. Counter surveillance equipment can be an excellent investment, as it ensures that your private information continues to be private.

Take the time to institute simple counter surveillance techniques today. Using common sense, take a good hard look around your home or office, and see what steps you can take to avoid being overlooked. Protect your informational assets, and you'll be taking an important step toward protecting your business.
